Pompey 9 points from safety now, Saints 3 points clear at the top. How does that song go?

We'll really see what sort of team West Ham is now...two draws against teams that they were surely expecting to beat, and they now have Leeds away, Boro at home, and Burnley away coming up. If they don't right themselves in a hurry, that wobble could turn into a collapse.

We've had our blip and are now hitting form. Just have to match or better those teams behind us. As I said before, autos will be Southampton and A N Other. COYR

Reading have won the last eight :( I can see them winning the next 4, and I haven't looked beyond that.

They should really think about getting into entertaining high-scoring draws....you know, like Peterborough?

not a great display, i think 2 goals would have been the minimum what fans expected, but at this time of the season its 3 points that matter and no injuries. the subs probably show who nigel thinks are crucial to our run-in and did not wish to risk them. lee is impressing everyone, and lets hope in a week chaplow will be back to 100%

Now things get a little tricky, with two straight away games. Millwall runs hot and cold as much as any team in the league, and Hull seems to be trying to get to the playoffs one point at a time. Going to need our best stuff over the next ten days.

Massive games coming up, if we can take a good amount of points, all the pressure will be on West Ham, if we keep up this form, I can see us finishing 1st, Reading 2nd, Boro 3rd and West Ham 4th!

And that last half hour was exactly why I was so tempted to start him. We just looks a much better TEAM with Connolly in it. We played our usual, fluid football once he came on. Yes, granted, we were 2-0 up at the time, but I still think Connolly coming on had a lot to do with it.

I'm not saying for one second that Lee played badly today, or is a bad player. Just like against Ipswich, I think he played well. He looks a cracking little addition, who offers something completely different. But I just think that we should go back to our usual style (at home - very happy for Lee to start away games), and in the main that means playing Connolly (or maybe Sharp, who if given the chance, might prove to just as effective). If it's not working, then we turn to Lee.

But any way, good three points and some cracking results elsewhere - not least at Upton Park. If Boro lose tomorrow, then this completely becomes a three horse race. Onwards and upwards to Millwall, and another three points badly needed.

A correct smug git though. We did look better with Connolly in the team - and that comes from me who thinks that Connolly is our 4th choice striker!

Yep, I'd agree, Individually, I think Connolly is 4th choice. On recent form I think it's fairly obvious that it's Lambert, Lee, Sharp, then Connolly. Over time, and with more games, Lee and/or Sharp may move up or down that ranking, but right now I think that's the INDIVIDUAL order.

But as I say, it's about the TEAM. And so at home, I think the order actually reads Lambert, Connolly, Sharp, Lee. Connolly fits into our usual style perfectly, and Sharp seemed to fit into it fairly well against Burnley. Only time will ultimately tell with him though.

Away from home, I think it's completely different, and on current form I'd be starting Lee in every away game. I don't think his presence from the off against Watford recently was a coincidence in us winning 3-0, and I totally believe what he offers us could be a really useful asset away from home.
