club forumsFootyMAD Newcastle United Mad Latest Toon News Pardew Fights FA Charge!
    By Nu Mad
    Updated Friday, 9th March 2012

Newcastle United RSS Feed Alan Pardew hopes the FA can see sense and withdraw their allegations that Newcastle and Sunderland failed to control their players in the Tyne-Wear derby.

Alan Pardew: "Mike Ashley thoroughly enjoyed Sunday - he thought it was 'good theatre', those were his words, and it probably was.

"But for us as a club, it's important he has a good hold of the football club and a good psychology towards it, which I think he has at the moment.

"We are just going to try to grow with the financial discipline that we have.

"If they [Sunderland] had beaten us at home, it would have been difficult to say we had had a great season.

"But we managed to come back in outstanding fashion, and now we can just go on in the last 11 games and play with a smile on our faces, hopefully.

"It's a combustible game. It was a tackle that there was always going to be a reaction to, and players mainly just ran over to try to keep everybody away.

"I don't think there was anything too threatening going on, but it probably didn't look too good on the TV screens.

"Hopefully, we can defend ourselves and Sunderland can defend themselves and we can all move on."

I think he's falling into the trap Bruce did... this (home draw against ten men) has seemingly defined the end of his season... doesn't bode well for him in future seasons methinks..

As I said snivelling, dropped our name in at the end, a peace offering, and a token gesture to the FA, but we will have to see. By the way we aint Man U, or Chelski, we dont have the clout, or the backhanders to give out.

Agree with this. Don't like Pardew (smug twat), but can't really fault him for this.

Yes I can, what was witnessed, happened. But under the terms of judicial law, you are innocent until proven guilty. maybe the whole thing will be dropped, but the FA are sending a message out basically, for the coaches to toe the line, as well as the players and fans. and IMO rightly so.

If the FA were consistent and not a bunch of self-interested pillocks, maybe...
