At the beginning of the season I would have been chuffed to bits to know we would be in this position. How come it feels so stressful? Hopefully a nice 3/4-0 will settle the nerves.

By "commitment" do you mean that he doesn't seem to tear around or work as hard as someone like Tadanari, or something else? If it is this, then there are different styles for different players and he is a player who plays in an area through the pitch that is about the width of the six yard box. He isn't a chaser. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Being an old duffer, I remember when Ruud Gullit first came over to England and he couldn't understand why the English strikers ran around so much. He said they should stay put and only run when the ball gets into the box.
I would like to see him start in place of Guly for away games at some point, with Chung on the bench to see how it goes. Might be just the physical presence required when we need to win ugly.
Do you know what your right in guessing my thoughts in a way, Yes I do prefer a tireless runner who appears to be giving all for the cause. I love the bit about Gullit by the way. I think Billy would suit certain games where we need some muscle in that area away games especially. I just think he hasn't shown his true colours since arriving and I just fear a Sheffield Utd career moment for him again.
I'm sure Billy will come good, but, at this time of the season, Adkins will be taking no chances. He will be getting him fully fit and training him to our style of play. Not everyone fits in right away. He'll be involved in our remaining matches and be a different player after a good preseason.

I emptied my in box only to fill it up again with well wishes etc. I have just returned from a stint with the Pharaohs and am as they say browned off after the lovely sun. Back on topic.......... I look forward to our game tomorrow having missed a few wins. I think we are going to have to concentrate more and learn how to break teams down when they start parking a bus. In my opinion perhaps NA may need to get a bit tougher with players when they are not on form. Mind you that is from reading other peoples comments so isn't an opinion formed from watching the team in general. When we were a bit short we had to play what we had. However relying on one player all the time to get us promoted is not going to work. The others have got to start chipping in or it is going to be bloody hard. Still I guess it is the same for all. A player like Sharp will prove a very good buy for us. Give him time. I have a feeling he'll be one of those players who needs to play a few consecutive games to get it together... I know an old has-been who was just like that from back in the day I was a striker not far off Billy's height, and I needed to play consecutive games to get in the groove and then once the goals started, they kept flowing. Most of mine were from around the 6 yard box too, albeit at a lot lower level than Billy Sharp!
What's up with slagging billy off on yet another thread. It will take time for him to get over moving from where his son is buried. As I said it's only been about 4 months since his son died, of course it will effect him. Can you honestly say that wouldn't mess your head up to?. Just give the guy a break. As for the match I think Saints will win 3-1.
I am not slagging him off as a person I have said and will repeat I know what he has gone through and it must be awful having just had my first daughter myself. I am just saying I currently fear for him as a saints player and the fact he may never settle here. He has been to a club and its not worked out before it can happen again I just want him to get a proper goal and kickstart his career here. For him as much as me.
