I know it's hard to be objective but our proposed stadium looks great and
designed for the future whereas the City stadium has an 'old' look to it, a
collection of cuboids stuck together; almost Blue Peterish!
Well done to the team which designed ours!

The differnce with ours is the fact that we have worked with council and planners to avoid any objections and havent tried to bully or bribe anyone:grin:<ok>

    It looks fantastic.

 Wow..I don't think we've come as close in our 129 year history to owning a proper football stadium. This is a great day to be a gashead and Nick Higgs deserves massive credit for what he's doing.

Almost makes you want to stick your fingers up at our red friends and tell them ''that's how you do it''...<whistle>

    Onwards and Upwards <cheers>

That looks stunning!!!!! Well done the Gas Board!! When a project is properly researched, discussed and planned with everyone concerned, that is what can be achieved.

as i said in the other thread, we kept it simple and small for the size we need. having a 30,000 seater will look stupid and empyt and the atmosphere will be poor. locals are happy with the size so looking good. but the stadium also have the facilities to increase capacity for when we need it.

imagine putting plans in for a massive 30,000 seater. locals be very unhappy about that on their doorstep <laugh>
but a 20,000 1 tier seater.... then when its built.... then make it bigger and locals cant do a thing about it.

    well done gas.

like manga said, we did it without stooping so low as using bully/harrassment/bribery tactics <laugh>

Looks great lads, although looking at the interior picture the seating is quite a shallow slope and it appears there are plenty of corporate areas above the main areas. Let's hope it comes to fruition and you can earn money from it seven days a week. <ok>

    its shallow for 2 reasons....

1, because that then allows extra tiers to be built on top when needed which has been stated in the plans.

2, locals complaining that a big stadium will spoil their area. shallow and 1 tier to keep them happy. once we have the stadium we can increase the size as its all in the plans.

So you're saying your stadium is 'shallow' ;)

Let's hope it all works out for you and that no-one overspends doing it. We sold our old land at the right time, they're only just started building on it this year due to the housing market. Get involved in any cockamamie bull***t meetings the council hold to discuss parking, travel, etc too!!

finances are covered. when we move in we will be debt free (apparently)

when i say WHEN we move in, i mean IF. with our history with stadiums i wont actually believe it until the team comes out the tunnel on a matchday <ok>

well done gas, you deserve it, but i caution you to find another club to share it. can your meagre attendance support it. what is needed out of season is pop, folk concerts. royal shakespeae co plays etc. chris gasheag as bottom has a certain ring to it
