I don't think it was a lie. I think it was either a small amount that NB didn't see the point in wasting or the situation changed because of that long blonde pillock. If you said that AP or Papa needs to come out and clarify it, I'd agree because they could take any pressure off Nick Barmby by explaining the situation. As for when they can be criticised for not putting more money, the answer is never. They've put a quarter of their personal worth into the club, way more than anyone else ever has or will again. The club must now run itself and we must spend what we earn.
Theo you're putting words in my mouth. I asked when we are allowed to ask "anything relating to transfer funds" not when we can criticise the Allams. My point isn't the cash available (which most of us appreciate is likely to be scarce), but the way supporters have been treated like mushrooms (keep us in the dark and pour some 5hit on us from time to time).
Think you are forgetting Theo we brought King in on loan. That is proving a poor choice. He may develop into a good player, the juries out, lightning pace but poor control at the moment and not what we needed another winger who may be a centre forward.
I think before Pearson left there were funds for a striker (£1.5 - £1.8million?) with the plan being that it would be Waghorn. Maybe that would have had to be funded by the sale of players and Barmby preferred to keep what he had, but we also saved Pearson's wages and got £1million compensation.
I'm not forgetting it, I'm talking about funds for transfers. Obviously we signed King, Mannone and Carson on loan. I agree with you, it's not worked out so far. It's not desperately crucial that we get players in and get up this season. My personal view is that it'd be best if we didn't. We don't need to make snap decisions or rush into loan deals. We can afford to build slowly.
Cant believe that Theo the futures now. We can and should go up this season. If we dont then whoever the 3 promoted teams are i expect one of them or an established team to come in for at least Rosenior. How no one has already i cant fathom, he is head and shoulders the best RB in the division and is far more dangerous going forward than Mclean.

We'll have to agree to disagree there, Chazz. There's no desperate need for us to be promoted. We've got another 2 seasons of parachute payments and we're continuing to get the higher earners off the wage bill. The club needs to grow organically again after nearly hitting rock bottom. We don't have to play **** or bust like West Ham. We can let these players grow together. I posted on twitter earlier some thoughts that peeps can take a look at. i think we can be similar to Swansea if we continue to play football the right way, add the right players at the right time, rather than taking anyone for the sake of it, and we let these players develop. Sure, we'll probably lose a Chester or a Rosenior but we'll have to replace them. That's what clubs our size do. Blackpool lost Charlie Adam last summer. Reading lost Hunt, Long, Doyle, etc over the last few years. You have to deal with that stuff, it happens to (almost) everyone.
The only problem is that historically clubs rarely have the luxury of several seasons to build their ideal teams. Good players are impatient for success and supporters quickly become impatient with managers who don't produce quick progress. Success usually goes in waves and it's important to take maximum advantage while there is forward momentum. Clubs that don't do this usually start moving backwards so promotion has to be an important ingredient of long term team building.
No problem. I agree with most of what you put. But, every loan or permanent signing is a punt. We may have just got lucky this time with Chester Stewart etc all coming together. Bit like Man U getting Scholes Butt Beckham al at once. Who is to say we will be lucky again. Its all coming together we need the icing on the cake otherwise they may all be gone next year. By the way do you think we will make the top 6 Theo?
What do you mean by that? NB is his biggest fan isn't he? Easily scared? Agreed. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be a particular reason for it, but teams just go way backwards in a new season. Look at Forest this year!
