No way, José! Counting your chickens is dangerous in this game...........................you should have learnt that by now?
Chaps, I've had a little word for Mabel Tazman in the 2.00 at Wincanton. I won't be playing as Chelts is round the corner but this expected to go well. Currently 11/4. Nam
Hello lads. Yet another no bet day for me,nothing remotely appeals..the fast will soon be over. Never a fan of this card at Sandown with three amateur/military events. What is most disturbing is the presence of a mere Private and a Trooper riding in the first race againt commissioned officers. Disgraceful.
Just a couple today, Watercolours 3.55 Ayr and Share Option 2.30 Leciester. will avoid tonights racing as Wolverhampton and Dundalk usually throw up a few surprise results
Looking at the JEWSON CHASE on oddschecker it looks liek the decision has been made on SIR DES CHAMPS, he's all blue so the money is pouring in.
Wuby: Sure agree with you on First Lieutenant, first-rate chance IMHO.... (Should add that FL goes much better left-handed over a trip, and if he gets good or good-to-firm ground that he needs to show his best, he is in with a hell of a chance). Anybody have any long-range weather forecasts?
We will see old boy (no harm intended!)...It could also be YOU eating YOUR words... On the point of the Champion Hurdle I see William Hill must a mole in here, seeing as they've evidently seen my Cheltenham preview notes as they've stuck Zarkander out to 8-1 for the race now It's still not a great price for him but I suppose it's heading out to a price reflective of his chances.
Right guys- The 606 Cheltenham preview evening will be going up in the enxt half hour or so. I have to post it bit by bit due to the character limit when you create a thread, so I just need no one to post anything on the thread until all the races are up on there. As soon as the Gold Cup bit is published, you are free to do whatever you want with it! Sorry if that sounds a bit daft, its just so you're aware that even though the thread will be published, it wont be complete at first
Toppy wasn't the point though to have this forum locked (until at least the first day's over?)and for it to be used more for referral (especially for newbies looking in) rather than to debate until the races start?? If I'm wrong that's ok, not the first time and won't be the last! 'I should have learnt by now'
Beeforsalmon: No offence taken, but strange things really do happen in racing, quite frequently actually. Fly will take all the beating, he is just brilliant, but it has to be a sporting e/w for me on Zarkandar at Hill's 8/1 (many thanks to you, if you had anything to do with this - currently - generous price!). I have no illusions on what Zarkandar has to do, none at all. Hurricane Fly deserves all the accolades/praise he has received, for sure. I read somewhere, that the only thing he has to fear are the eight hurdles of the race, very true. If he jumps them all like the professional he is, then, race over. I agree with you there. The point I wish to make about Zark is that his last race at Newbury was probably a better peformance than we at first realised (reference, your own Donn McClean) as the pace was a slow one which did not suit Zarkandar at all. So to win it, albeit a bit luckily, was a fair old effort. Fine racehorse, but the CH is a huge test for him. So, I certainly could be eating my words, but it won't taste too bad!
you lads don't half waffle, this preview night is about getting to the bar for the free booze, not for you to talk formlines and tosh. Not what I signed up to!!!
That's funny. Poor old McCain bottles the Arkle with Peddlers then finds a Mullins hotpot re-routing to take him on - expect a myserious coughing bout that keeps Peddlers out until Aintree.....
Erm, Donn's Irish surely. Writer/tipster, hails from Dublin? Really enjoyed his article in the RP Cheltenham Festival Guide 2012.
