Goo9d for them they will be around for a long time unlike some premiership teams who are in serious trouble having paid players far too much

If he's in it for the money at his age after no doubt earning millions, there's no hope left, is there?

£5k per appearance is a decent sum for an ageing striker. More than he'd get per week if he could prove his fitness and ability, which is why the weekly wage is so low.

If there were a risk of that happening, he'd probably get a Warnock-style walk-out clause in his contract to avoid it.

Fowler's a greedy, mercenary prick and always has been. Supported Everton as a kid and then played for Liverpool, par example. <doh> Not to mention his antics with us.

I remember the news breaking that Leeds had signed Robbie Fowler, I was ecstatic, as far as I was concerned we had a great squad and he was the missing part of the jigsaw, my mate who supports Liverpool was gutted, I was on cloud nine. I don't think I have ever been so excited and so wrong about a Leeds player/signing.

I was on holiday when Lee Sharpe signed for us. Remember coming back on the plane and opening the paper they give you, seeing Sharpe in a Leeds shirt and thinking he'd be an awesome buy, probably would've been if it wasn't for the injuries, although that's why old **** face sold him to us.

I also remember being equally excited about Brolin and even Rush...

Yes I remember a sense of excitement for Sharp as well and also Roecastle. I did feel sorry for Roecastle fancy having to compete for a place against Strachan, Batty, McCallister, Speed....

He's got a £30m property portfolio, he really doesn't need the money, I suspect he just didn't want someone taking the piss.

Didn't we have the chance to sign Ronaldinho for 12m at the same time as Fowler, and we went for the latter?

Under the laws of the game, a player can't be compelled to leave the pitch by anyone other than the referee.

See page 5 in this link:
