Albertz and Laudrup have both stated that for the entire time they were with Rangers they only had one contract. They have even offered to show their bank accounts for the time they were employed by Rangers. This covers from 1994 up to 2001.

I'm sure the taigs will know better than these 2 players, who were amongst the highest paid at Rangers at the time. It would seem strange that 2 of the highest earners weren't benefitting from the alleged double contracts.

    Silly taigs <doh>

I'm bored at work. The others can answer for themselves.

    Wish I was a proddy.

So that's two out of how many ...

Not saying the EBT was used illegally or there where two contracts but maybe some players where set up "above board" and some where set up illegally ...

Who knows, not me, not you, not anybody on these boards.

I'm sure the truth will be discovered!

Wouldn't the players technically be responsible for any tax owed?

Doesn't the possible misuse of EBTs apply to those signing contracts from 2000 onwards?

"beeling" is not an emotion I've felt for a few months now.

I think the whole scenario has blown my funny fuse, just too much funny coming my way in too short of a time - I would have preferred it been drip-fed to me over about 6 months to derive the maximum amount of pleasure rather than this near perfect storm of absolutely everything that can go wrong going wrong for Rangers within a few weeks.

2 of the highest paid and highest profile players at the time. If they weren't on two contracts, then why would others? Surely it would make more sense giving them benefits to keep them happy.

True, I don't know and I don't claim to know. I would rather take the word of people involved who have no reason to lie, and when they offer to show the bank account that their wages were put in to.

BTW I've backed Motherwell for 2nd place at 13/8 so I'm cheering on slow painful death rather than liquidation (bets void if more points deducted).

<laugh> I'd imagine they are better odds than Rangers to finish second.

Yeah, could be ... but then again!

    Who knows.

Unless everyone who was possibly implicated in this states the same, then I'd be waiting to hear the official word of the investigation!

Hardly anyone in my office today, so I'd end up trying to pranky myself.

Only got 10 minutes of billable work today as well <laugh> My boss is far from happy.
