cant help thinking that they replaced a strong link with a weak link in their chain. Its no coincidence after smith left it went tits up.I think sally was expected to get into champs league easy route and win the league this year. The income that may have generated could have bought some finacial breathing space, possible millions over two seasons. This was factored in by whyte and co whilst they worked out a master plan for the tax case. Now it has all gone wrong its all come home to roost in a horrible way.Jellavic was somehow factored in to this as another throw of the dice. Celtic were thought by them as unable to win the title but how wrong they were! mcoist was their week link no wonder he offered to work for nowt!.
Smith spent all the money and when it was going to get rough he out of there as fast as his leg could carry him. A total bawbag! McCoist was told by Smith not to take the job, but he has as least stuck with what he is asked to do in a lose lose situation.
McCoist was a big hard man last year when he dived into the Celtic dug-out, only to be hauled back by Smith. Later Ally insisted his innocence claiming he had seen a ten pence coin on the ground. Of course Ally wasn't punished, SFA soft ruling on Rangers again. Then when Ally was left to his own devices and when his future looked bleak, turning a 15 point lead into a 21 point deficit . Rather than risk his job Ally started to greet and pleaded with his bosses looking to keep his job saying he would work for nothing to the end of the season. Ally also showed his weakness by saying that he would not play any role in the players discussions with the administrators, saying he would not be there, he would be outside to console and greet with them. Yesterday he became the big hard man again, denying that there was any rift within the players group. He said he would be very angry if anyone said there was. Now how did he know, he said he wouldn't be there, who would be afraid if Sally did get angry ?
All those trophies and all he spent was £36,000,000 At least there was no consequences of spending all that money
C'mon now Yellowscreen. Walter Smith did nothing that was detrimental to the future of Rangers Football Club. It's all Craig Whyte's fault don't you know? Murray and Smith spent years getting financial prudence right at Ibrox.
Smith got an award and so did Murray (for alleged Charity work) neither of those people should have been fit and proper people to get awards. Both of them bullied and cheated and swindled to get their way. Smith's contribution to football would better measured by his success or more correctly his failure at Everton. On a level playing field he managed to bleed Everton dry and it has taken super and heroic work by Celtic reject Moyles to bring Everton towards the top of the WEPL again. EspaniaCelts thanks for your kindness, if it was left to some others whom(I don't need to name) it would be hardly worthwhile.
Smith nearly put Everton twice into administration as he admitted on the radio earlier this week , whyte ,Murray and smith are all equally to blame for the mess now
36 Million spent, and how much was received in transfers? dev has some sad sack facts somewhere I'm sure.
Total spend over 5 years £13m or thereabouts which is £13m more than Celtic spent in the same period.
