So you don't think that of the, hang on what does Elland Road hold these days, I'll be conservative, 15,000 people that Bates drives away from Elland Road every home game there aren't a say 1,000 who didn't go to away games who've suddenly thought, "You know what, I've got all this extra money now I'm not paying Bates' prices, I want to support the team still but I don't want to give Bates a penny, I'll go to some away games instead." And I'm not saying they go every game, if they only went every second game you'd still be sticking 500 on your average away following. You're only looking for 1 in 30 people who are boycotting to be new away fans because of the extra cash they've got.
Well let's put it this way: we were selling out away allocations and home ones in the Premiership before the Ridsdale/Krasner/Bates combo crippled out club, and we'll sell them out when we get new ownership. You might be right that it frees up cash for some boycotters, but I doubt it's made any notable effect on our travelling fan count. A future increase in home season tickets won't shake our away support; we're too well-followed around the country for that to happen.
For anyone who's interested, here's this seasons away attendances so far, game by game... http://www.millwall-history.org.uk/AwayFollowing2011-12.gif
