This was what I saw as well. My view is that we need to get someone in that will replace Rosicky. I don't know whether Ramsey is quite that player (yet?). If I was going for the one place I would most like an upgrade, this is it. Apart from that, I am still not convinced by Gibbs either. Santos seemed Ok, but anoher LB would make me happy. TV is not a "great" LB - emergencies only.

I'm happy with this buy, Podolski can score goals, proven and has a hammer of a left boot - perfect.

Not happy to see Walcott as a winger in the formation above, have we not learned anything this season ??? Song still remains the weak link in midfield for me, I want to see an animal in there. We need an attacking midfielder to take the burden off RVP having to pull rabbits out of the hat, Wilshere can play that role but I doubt Wenger will play him like that.

Irrespective of all that, Podolski is the sort of player Arseal have even crying out for, a MAN, proven quality, sensible price. Those who claimed we can't buy quality at a good price have been proven to be chatting **** !

except its sort of hard to determine what a good price is isn't it? with the prices all over the place the past few years, players going for nearly 100m and all that.

Well we can make a decent fist of it - I base it on what Wenger spends and a suggested £10.9m sounds like a bargain - in Wenger world.

Quality deal. Anything up to £20m I would've thought acceptable for this quality of player.

I think the real bonus with him is that he can play on the left in our formation having played there for Germany. He can move in for RVP if needed, but doesn't HAVE to sit on the bench if RVP is playing.

I felt the same... all these teams lack creativity. The rise of Oxlade Chamberlain means we now have to consider whether we buy a new CM or not... I would go for a winger in the summer personally as well as a back up CB and a RB. Question, who plays there if Sagna is injured again?

EXACTLY! This is why is was a genius buy and I really wanted him. Look at chamakh. Can only play up top and so never plays. Not a good situation.

    A RB isn't needed. Sagna & Jenkinson.
Santos was looking quality before he got injured.
Winger isn't needed as Ryo, Theo, Oxo, Gervinho & The Pod are all capable wingers.

Jenkinson seems to be too inexperienced as yet. I would invest in another back up. Look what happened when we lost both Jenks and Sagna. Hopefully we won't have all our FB's out injured again.

Agreed. With The Pod I think we have covered 1 of the places we need to strengthen in the summer, and its only march! I still would like a full back (maybe who can fill in at centre half if needed) and maybe 2 centre mids (1 holding and 1 creative)

i'd like to see the back of Squillaci, Vela, Arshavin, Bendtner, Almunia, Denilson firstly.
Sign up Rosicky for another year. Get Wilshere back. Get Diaby back.
What concerns me about the CB's is Djourou has been given a new 50k/wk contract, and he's not worth that. Merts, Kos, Verm are good CB's. Another would be fantastic, but Djourou is staying, and Miguel & Bartley are coming through, so a new one won't be bought, nor a FB. Two in each position is enough, 3 would mean Gibbs & Jenkinson play no games.

We cant rely too much of wilshire next year. We have no idea how he will come back playing. I find it wierd england fans are penciling him into their teams. I very much doubt he will be ready to play well by the summer having missed the whole year.

Hey i couldn't agree more, but we live in silly times where footballers get paid ludicrous sums, but a least we should be paying our crappier players a lot less than our best players, who is RVP.

I can see a reshuffling of our front three with the Pod coming in. The first person in danger would be Walcott without a doubt. With OXO and Gervinho both possessing better ball control on the wings, i can see Walcott being benched. If Miyaichi continues to play well for Bolton then that would add to our already loaded left side.

With the Pod coming in we have the following possibilities:

    Pod-----RVP-----OXO

    OXO----Pod-----RVP

    Gerv----RVP-----OXO

    Miyaichi----POD----Walcott

    etc

I personally think a top class versatile defender that can play at cb and dm is what we need.

Vertoghen or Hummels would be my choice.

I would defo go for Vertoghen but unfortunately we've given Djourou a lovely new fat contract so no possibility there....
