Hey folks, It was reported today in the BBC gossip column that we plan to continue our move of signing young and British talent by signing Chrystal Palaces Wilfred Zaha and Wigan's Victor Moses. What does every one think of these players? And what does every one think of this plan? One thing we must avoid is getting carried away with signing youngsters to develop and ending up like Arsenal, with no experience, players struggling and the youngsters who do hit the top level leaving. Finally, which British youngsters do you all like, and would enjoy at Liverpool? I live Adam Johnson and Daniel Sturridge.
I wouldn't mind these two and Junior Hoillet but I'm just being greedy (I know he's not British!). They would add a bit of pace, skill and they would run at defenders which is something we don't have if we take Bellamy and Suarez out.
Would you be happy to sign those 2 or 3 along with a few top first teamers and just allow the youngsters to add depth? Like A-Johnson, Cavani and Sweignsteiger, and then Zaha, Moses and Hoilett? A Canadian player could be good for bussiness in North America. Or would you have them as first teamers even?
I'd be happy with Moses and Zaha (you can add holliet here too) so long as we get a slightly older, established player too.
Well I'm sure if the talent was there we would, but we are a british club, and we should have a british foundation.
Was only joking but we did pick up pelosi who we have high hopes for. Only American I would go for right now is Dempsey but he wants CL footy so unless we get that then I highly doubt it.
Not sure about Moses, doesnt he have the worst shot to goal ratio in the League? That'd be just what we need, another player who doesnt know where the goal is. Dont know much about Zaha, but there seems to have been a few clubs chasing. So if it wasnt too much money might be worth a go. Personally I'd like to see our own youngesters been given the chance, and by that I mean Sterling. Add to that I think we should be looking outside of the UK. We should be looking at countries that actually create a winning national team and have the prospects at U21s
I understand your sentiments but, to be honest, I couldn't give a flying fig what nationality is on the players passport. I just want the best players available within our budget.
Young and British? Let me think.... Kelly Robinson Sterling Morgan Shelvey Henderson There's probably a few I missed.
To be fair, it said 'continue' with young and british, so this would be adding to the current crop. Moses and Zaha are still a few years older than Sterling.
