Leeds United chairman Ken Bates says the club are on course to deliver the 30,000 attendance sought by manager Neil Warnock for next week’s clash with West Ham United.

Bates revealed that more than 25,000 tickets have been sold for the match at Elland Road on March 17, putting Leeds in line for their biggest crowd of the league campaign.

All 3,000 away tickets have been sold...

He doesn't deserve that many considering it is category A (understandable given it's West Ham) and our season is practically over.

Part of me wants to see a big turn out the other wants to see the stay away protest continue and hit the old gits pockets in the hope he takes the message and pisses off.

I just fear that come the end of the season when Warnock asks for some dosh to sign new players Bates will turn around and say there is none blaming the stay away fans and reduced gate receipts.

Yeah i agree with that. I can almost imagine the scenario in summer after Snodgrass has just been sold and fans protest just as they did with Howson and Bates will respond something along the lines of 'where were these so called supporters at the end of last season?'

Ken has been fairly unlucky with the fixture list this season with relegated clubs Birmingham and Blackpool being midweek, Forest one of the bigger clubs in the division midweek, a poor christmas fixture list compared with last season and league leaders Southampton on TV as well as playoff rivals at one stage Cardiff. That has left him with the big category A games being the likes of Portsmouth, Donny and Barnsley teams we couldn't give a damn about apart from the 3 points. West Ham is the first really attractive game that lives up to the pricing except we are midtable at the business end of the season. Still will be nice to see Elland Road looking relatively full again.

I dare say had we had some backing from the chairman and a few first choice players in rather than freebie after freebie and loan after loan then we would be up there challenging and our gates would be in the region of 30,000+ each home game.

Watch the difference next season IF Bates backs Warnock and IF reading pip you to the second spot (meaning you will take more notice of this division than you would if promoted) ;)

Do you fancy your chances in the playoffs? Genuine question as you must be more than a little concerned over Readings form?

We are above Reading and us and Reading have a game in hand over the Saints, if we both win them games the we would be top and Reading would be level on points with saints so it should be saints that are worried,, to answer your question yes i would fancy our chances in the play offs as the only away games from the top 9 we have lost this season is saints and reading, i know reading are on a good run but they will drop points soon.

With Warnock in charge you'll probably get so bored even being top of the league won't help. He makes Allardyce look as adveturous as Maradona.

Allardyce, despite doing good at Bolton where he was allowed to purchase old stars such as Ivan Campo, Fernando Hierro and Jay Jay Okocha to build his team around, is a waste of space at West Ham. Even with all the class upfront including Baldock, Cole and Maynard and class in midfield with the likes of Noble and Lansbury the Hammers are still very average when they should be running away with the league like the magpies did a couple of years ago.
Warnock on the other hand got the best out of his flair players at QPR such as Taarabt and signed the impressive Routledge who he got playing exceptionally well. Big Sam will continue to destroy players with any sort of football ability because they can't believe how much of a prick the guy actually is and knows nothing about tactics to suit a top team.

Must agree it is a little like Leicester, both West Ham and Leicester have so much talent "on paper" that it is almost criminal that the two are not running away with the league.

After our excellent win on Sunday and hitting some kind of form at just the right team dare I even start to think that we might just be playing West Ham at least once more this season after this forthcoming game ;)
