Is this just to provide reassurance following the lawsuit reported last weekend? I didn't realise there were any further doubts about it being on schedule once last year's issues with workers were resolved.

Good to see they've prioritised the Las Vegas car park section for tarmac.

That's only £65 (assuming the guy is American). <yikes>

Hope that's true. Heard that it might be close to $150+ just for GA on Sunday.

I'm sorry, but I do not like it.

It looks a pure Tilkedrome with too many tight corners. As per usual, a ridiculously long straight which will have probably been designed with DRS in mind.

Once again, Tarmac run off areas, so the drivers can go off at their own free will. I would love it to be astro-turf - at least that will provide a bigger test.

    http://circuitoftheamericas.com/articles/the-marriage-ceremony-is-underway1

Circuit of The Americas has reached another paving milestone! Today the the crew is laying final piece of base course and completing the entire first layer of pavement around the track. This process is referred to as “marrying the track" and is taking place from Turn 20, through the starting grid and up the hill to Turn 1. Unlike building a traditional sports complex like a stadium or ballpark the major portion of construction for Circuit of The Americas is building the “track” itself. About ten feet of Central Texas clay was excavated the entire length of the track. A black poly material 30 millimeters in thickness was then placed along the length of the excavated portion. This material acts as an envelope for layers of select fill to be placed so that it remains exactly in place.

Shouldn't be too hard, didn't he just cut and paste some of the great corners from other tracks here?

Either way it looks mint and I am really looking forward to it. I think the atmosphere will be much better at a track like this than the Indy venue!
