Indeed they did. 2 games in hand on Saints and they still have to come here. March is certainly hotting up. Roll on saturday and the Bullardless Ipswich.
Looking at this table we still haver every chance. We don't even have to rely on other teams; if we win our games in hand we are still in the playoffs.
Agreed, we are definitely still in the hunt but it is going to have to take a miraculous change in our 'chances to goals' ratio in order for us to still be competing at the beginning of April
Unless things change dramatically we could probably say that we're still in the hunt for the play-offs, but our recent run of drawn matches means we're no longer in the hunt for the automatics.
I think you're claiming to be an astrologist. None of us know what will happen and we're probably in as good a position as most of us hoped we would be in at the start of the season. As the Tickler says - Time will tell.
I don't think it's that optimistic to say we have a chance of the playoffs. Especially when, if all teams had played equal games, we're already in them.
Unlike many i dont give up that easily. Whilst its still possible you have to aim for it. Getting fed up of all the neg heads on Humberside as well. ffs, i bet the samaritans are inundated with city callers at the moment.
At the start of the season I would have taken 2 points off the playoffs after 33 games but its the fact that we could easily be 6-10 points better off. We were 4th in December and we had the January transfer window to strengthen in order to challenge for the top 2. I'm not saying we should have signed a striker for 3 million quid, I'm saying we haven't utilised the loan market when it is clear for all to see we cannot score goals. For whatever reason NB chose not to do this and yes 'time will tell' whether it was the right decision.
We could be clear top with another 15+ goal scorer in the team. But we dont have one and yet still have a chance of the top 2 or play-offs. When either or both of those are no longer possible then you can all moan and groan as much as you like which you shall. Then again being a neg head is part of Hull culture.
We shouldn't really torture ourselves too much with 'what might have been'. All of the contenders are dropping the points they expected to get (look at the West Ham V Watford game last night). What worries me a bit is that since taking the job NB seems to be carrying out the role of a good first team coach, but not a manager. He has avoided the transfer market like the plague, he shys away from answering direct questions and he doesn't seem very adaptable in his tactics. I hope he proves to be a silent genius and gets us up, but if it does go pear-shaped we might need to be looking for a more savvy partner for him next season.
2-2 Brighton Cardiff game // 1-1 West Ham Watford game // 0-0 Hull Leeds game. what is the difference here please ? from where i am sitting all 6 clubs get One Point and nothing more. everyone is dropping points and will continue to do so. thats the fun of it all. releax and enjoy it all,, ffs.
I go to the garage and use a punch bag. Much better for you. Yes its frustrating but so what, its only football FFS.
