<peacedove>There is a growing speculation that Fernando Torres is going to be put up for sale in a clear out by Chelsea.
If Torres returns to Liverpool his case is going to be similar to that of Andrij Schewcheneko who later returned on loan to AC Milan.
I doubt it if Liverpool can match his wages.Never say never.!<ok>

another "If I won the lotto millions thread" :)

Not gonna happen, he'll go home, unless Rafa arrives at the bridge.

If he came back grovelling and we got him for 15 mil then I would consider it. Never to wear the number 9 shirt though, he's lost that right <ok>

  4. Even if I wanted him to return, I wouldn't pay £15m! If he moves he will return to Spain IMO

If you didn't know the Torres of old and were going purely on his performances at Chelsea would you pay £15mil for him?
I would love to see if we could get him back to his old self but I wouldn't pay real money for him.

I think it would be best for him not to return. He didn't leave on a high and relationships were strained.

He is also not as young any more, and could slip into injuries at any time.

We need to move on and look to the future. Resigning Torres would look a bit desperate.

I'd rather spend more and go for some one like: Sturridge, Cavani, Muller, De Jong.

Mata said "Torres was offered the chance to take the penalty,he refused"

Torres is a wreck,23 hours without a goal, dropped by his country.

You reap what you sow Nando.

If Torres had taken the penalty and missed it would be the talking point.Simply it is lack of confidence in himself.<ok>

Come on Sd,23 hours and counting.

I agree he has a confidence problem but its more a case of us building our attacking tactics to suit him when he was here and Chelsea not changing their system to suit him,yes hes had chances at Chelsea but hes a little fish in a big pond at the Bridge and no doubt wishing he'd stayed here a while longer.

I said it at the time when he left it was a poor decision. He was badly advised to leave a club where he was loved and played every week in a system that suited him to go to... well ...Chelsea.

I would take him back for £10M just in case he returned to form for us but it will never happen and that is probably a good thing.

Tbh, I think that he did the right thing for the team if he didn't feel confident enough to take the penalty.
People have different constitutions, it was obvious Nando was a sensitive child when he was with us. His confidence is shot to buggery now.
I'd take him back if he paid us for the privilege of playing for us again.:)

If the story's of the special one are true; could you not see a swap deal; abramovich gets Mourinho back plus Ronaldo and Real get a a shed load of cash and Torres.

Now I would have said 3 years ago Torres wouldn't be seen dead in a RM shirt but I'm not as sure of his character now.

  14. And once we got him playing sell him Man City for £50m? I think we have a plan!

I just don't think it would be a good idea. I could see a divide between the fans and a few players in the dressing room pretty annoyed by the decision as well.

I also think the pressure and media attention has been too much for him, imagine all the attention back on him if he was to re-sign for us.

No thanks - he had a good few seasons with us and scored some great goals but the fact is we didn't win anything with him, his lost a yard of pace and he simply isn't the player he was 3-4 seasons ago.

Lets move on and find someone else with less risk.

And only light heartedly; but do we really need another striker that can't hit the back of the net? We'd be breaking world records for chances missed next year lol

look to be honest he did the damage so no. if he'd stayed til may and then elft fiar enough but he jumped ship to a big rival and made big comments when he did so about "big clubs" he merits no consideration IMO.

Some people would have him back? WTF

What happened to dignity and loyalty - he can go **** himself as far as I'm concerned.
