Not a lot going on really... ............................ Martin O'Neill is reportedly looking to bring Fulham pair Danny Murphy and Pavel Pogrebnyak to the Stadium of Light at the end of the season. Danny Murphy, who has been an influential member of the Fulham team for five years now, as well as captaining the side through the Hodgson, Hughes and Jol era, has only the remainder of the season left on his current deal and unless a contract is put forward by Fulham soon, the central midfielder could well take the opportunity to leave. Despite Murphy's integral role, Martin Jol is well known for his aspirations to lower the average age of the squad and place his own mark on the first team, and the departure of his skipper may well be at the forefront of a whole host of summer sales. Meanwhile, Sunderland have been casting an eye over the early Premier League success of striker, Pavel Pogrebnyak. Having joined on loan in January, Pogrebnyak has proven a hit with five goals in three games, with each of his shots that have been on target ending in the net. The Fulham faithful have thoroughly enjoyed his impressive start, putting to bed the idea that Bobby Zamora, who left to join Queens Park Rangers, will be missed. However, Sunderland want to rival Fulham for the Russian's signature and, unless the loan deal has a finite option to buy, Jol could well face some stiff financial competition in June. ...................................................................... Former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Bolo Zenden is training with Blackburn in a bid to win a short-term deal. The veteran Dutch international is a free agent after quitting Sunderland in the summer. .....................................................
Dont mind either but not sure if Murphy improves what we have and how the hell am I supposed to spell the other one, bring back Tommy Smith
pity we couldn't have got that russian lad when we were linked with him last season, he's a very powerful cf and a great finisher, he'll probably stay with fulham
Should have gone for Pogrebnyak in January. Think he'll be the type of forward we go for in the summer.
