Chan is only in it for the money. (To be frank, I sometimes wonder if he won Pompey in a game of poker.) Luckily - in the silver lining sense of the word - he cannot really asset strip the club any more as it seems to have be stripped of its assets already, so he might be forced to invest if he wants to have any chance of getting his money back. I very much doubt any councillor would grant him planning permission to demolish and build on Fratton Park, if only for fear of never getting voted back into office again.

If you do survive - and I genuinely hope that you do - you're going to have to go down the youngsters route and, sadly, you're going to have to get used to selling off promising talent. This'll probably mean struggling in League One / Two for a number of years, but at a root-and-branch clear-out might give you a chance to get your wage bill under control, as fresh nippers keen for an opportunity to prove themselves will be a lot cheaper to employ. Will your gates drop? Initially, almost certainly, but if you can get back onto an even keel and then get a play-off or cup run going you'll find your gates pick up. People are shallow and like to support a winning team regardless of the division. Saints were routinely getting some of the highest attendances in the country despite playing in League One. The same can be true for you.

Pompey does have hard-core support. Indeed, your rivalry with the Southampton - which often extends far further than the turf of the football pitch - gives you a strong sense of identity and adds to the numbers of your hard-core supporters. This is your primary asset (and one which could never be asset-stripped) You may not own Fratton Park, but you can show any potential buyers that there are plenty of punters willing to cheer on the team.

Some might say, "Are you prepared to put up with this incessant pain in the hope of a cure or do you believe in the afterlife?"

I'm not sure whether I believe in it but I'm sure as hell not ready for it!

......or it could be put - do you believe in euthanasia?

Keep someone alive for longer....but keep them suffering for longer.....or pull the plug and let them be free?

I think euthanasia should be legalised so that solves that dilemma for me!

Oh my goodness Mike, you must be quite young.

We've got a lot of broken bones but we're not on a life support machine just yet, (although it feels like it) we're just in intensive care.

I'm very optimistic - a bit more pain and then we're going to be fine. <ok>

27 in fact - supported and followed PFC since '92 - still remember the tears i shed at Villa Park after the penalty shoot out with 'pool - was a lot to take for an 7 year old!

I have been on the terraces on a cold Tuesday winter night watch us versus the likes of Grimsby Town - and losing 1-0.

Then to the joy at seeing the cup being lifted in 2008 - it all seems like a distant memory now doesnt it!

We are definitely in intensive care - but plugged into life support machines to "help us tick over" until the doctor (TB) can diagnise the best way forward - if we were in the Netherlands I am sure the options would be either carry on, or pull the plug!

Grim, but I have always been a pessimist!

Just one other thing to consider. Form on the pitch is obviously not great after losing players, etc. Unless your form improves, to avoid Plan B you will need to find a rich individual who doesn't mind putting in loads of money to buy a club which will start in League 1 on minus 10. At least the situation should be resolved in the next few weeks. If I were a Pompey fan, I would just want an answer, one way or another.

Sometimes Channon you just need a whole shedload of that virtue - patience.

All will be revealed at the right time. Be it liquidation or salvation.

Singing blue 3 - Chainrai did not return to place PFC in admin......we entered admin voluntarily as a result of CSI going into admin.....chainrai placed CSI in admin for defaulting on an installment for the purchase.

Starting a pheonix club is the absolute last resort!!!!! in the event (unlikely) of total liquidation. I say unlikely as Chainri will not allow PFC to just dissapear, he would loose practically everything, so you can work it out for your selfes, as i said months ago, he will protect his financial interest using minimum resources until a new owner can be found.

PFC, will survive, it will change, it has too.........but it will change for the better, possibly starting next season in L1. I personally having followed my club since I was old enough to understand the beutiful game, will follow it in which ever league it plays in.......I will support the players and manager until the last breath in my body expires.............but please, fellow fans, if you really are die hards, stop this nonesense talk of boycots, protests and such talk of rather being "liquidated" than Chainrai bailing us out short term!

Hopefully see you all at the amex on sat.........I take it we will all be there?

Jake, I believe it would be -10 points at the start of next season, IF we do not come out of administration with a CVA.

Unless your form improves, there is a chance that you might go down without the points deduction. If that were to happen, the points deduction is carried forward to the next season. Not certain about that, but that's what happened to Saints. You are currently 6 points from safety, so it's a possibility.

we went into admin before the cut off date so the points deduction only applies to this season, however we could be deducted more points if:
    a) we are still in admin at the start next season
    b) if we come out of admin without a cva before the start of next season

I thought that be couldn't be penalised for starting next season in administration (we didn't last sesason) but will if we don't exit within a year of entering or if we exit without a CVA, which a distinct possibility. Of course, there is also the FL's reserved position that they could, if they choose, give us an additional deduction for entering administration a second time in short succession. Who knows, they seem to make it up as they go along.
