apparently pompey are getting £800000 from the football league is this fair on other clubs in finacial difficulties?
Not fair on other clubs but it does mean the 7th is on and that's all I care about if they are going bust eventually!!
It's just from what all clubs get paid by the Football League, TV money and so on. They don't get any free cash.
No, it's absolutely not fair. It's disgusting actually. However, I don't want to see any club go bust and I hope Rangers get sorted out soon.
No worries, Pompey staying in business to the end of the season is good business for us. Probably two full houses and 3 points.
This is starting to get repetitive, read the bloody story before you go on about us being treated favourably:
ah i understand now that all clubs get the same payment so thats ok whats probably more worrying is the part "subject to any outstanding balances owed to other clubs" does this mean if other clubs are owed monies for transfers, tickets etc the the FL will pay them first and then any remaining cash (if any will go to the club). Surely the clubs survival to the end of the season would be more important to the FA than paying debts to other clubs
I am beginning to think that we will be looking for new rivals. I can't see them getting purchased by anyone with that level of debt now. This isn't a gloat as I don't want them to go; I just think it'll happen this time. They'll last the season and go in May or June. It is now time that football woke up and tasted some realities.
Sometimes we can make ourselves look very foolish with our biased views. Posting without reading the full story can be rather a foolish thing to do. Not having a dig as I have been in a similar position myself at times and have had a pretty large do;;op of egg on my face.
They are just having money paid early as it is in the FL's interest to get Pompey to the end of the season.
