Benitez, a few quips from Fergie and the FSW had a public breakdown which helped us win the league and took Liverpool into a decline that they're still trying to recover from. The man's a good tactician but an arrogant prick and a clown.

What a slide though! Even I coud not have expected such a decline into mid table mediocrity! The amount of celebration Dalglish the buffoon did for a cup like the Carling Cup showed how far the scousers have fallen. Sad really but that's life...<laugh>

I think the celebrations were because it's a guaranteed springboard to greater success. Like Birmingham.

plastic fan displays his ability to not know what actually happened <doh>, whats wrong still deciding which football team to support at this point?

It didn't cause Newcastle to "surrender" the title. It was the last day of the season and Newcastle needed to win and utd draw or less. In the end it didn't matter because Man U won.
It didnt cause a mid season implosion, it was the last game

No it wasn't. He made the comments a few days before the end of the season after the Leeds game.

EDIT: my apologies; age, drugs and drink are catching up on me. I think the comment was after a game against Forest and the rant was about the Leeds game but still don't think it was last day of the season.

I remember that bit very well, you had a home game which you drew and we beat Boro 3-0. May, Cole and Giggs if memory serves me correctly. Although in the Wikipedia age anyone could say that!

As far as I can remember there were at least a couple of matches and the title was not decided yet.

Five out of that list I gave are still here and all of them are top players. Maybe Kuyt's slightly passed it now, still a very good player to have in the squad. He bought in Lucas, one of the best (if not the best) in his position in the league.

He did let players go too easily though, and signed a fair few duffs. He helped us to make a 27mil profit on Torres (shame we wasted it on Carroll FFS!)

If Kenny had to be replaced my first choice would be Rafa - Risky - but I believe with the backing of the owners this time round he'd surprise a few people.

In all seriousness, I think Rafa is incapable of maintaining a good relationship with the owners of any club. The summer after he won the EC with Liverpool I spent some time with my uncle in Valencia who married a local girl and has lived there for about 20 years. I admitted I thought Rafa was the man to win Liverpool the title again and my uncle said any success would be short term and it would end in chaos as Rafa's ego had torn Valencia apart. He was right. The same happened a Inter. The man's an egomaniac.

Just imagine being obsessed with humilliating your rivals rather than playing good football for your fans! As the French say:"Quel plonkeur"!

True but Saints seem focussed on getting promoted now that Pompey are properly ****ed and Agent Redknapp is a distant memory.

True, but a lot of Liverpool fans ignore the fact that he inherited a pretty good side with top quality players like Hypia, Henchoz, Finnan, Owen, Gerrard, Carragher and Hamann. And tbh the team he left you with was a lot weaker than the one he inherited, with just as many useless players in it.

Nice attempt at a dig as well, but a fully fit Fletcher (i.e. from 2008-2010) is twice the player Barry is. Heck, even a Fletcher with his guts rotting to bits was better than Barry in 2010/11 <ok>

Why is it Liverpool fans cannot see this.

The guy is a ****ing loon, if he wasnt a football manager or a waiter he would be a dictator or a terrorist.
