I'm not bothered what Terry gets up to in hi s private life as long as he performs on the pitch. All this stuf about a role model is a bit much. At the end of the day we shouldnt even know what he gets up to, and thats problem we have with the press in this country. In my opinion he should never of lost the captaincy, I knew we would go down hill from there. Now we just look like a joke, i'l agree on that!
In club terms it can be ignored, but in the National side he should not even appear, he is not a good role model for young players, a role model usually have to be admired for their conduct on and off the field. There are many that have worn the England Jeysey. Shearer Owen Lineker ect ect ect, many. Terry is not one of those. But hey, we all know results are the primary objective in this part of hte world, a priority over learning technique and skills, so it is no surprise that Terry's tarnished rep is overlooked in the quest for results. The woman Terry cheated on his wife with (how many men and women cheat on their spouses daily?) was Bridge's ex. Bridge was immature being possessive over an ex. It wasn't the cheating on his wife that everybody got so wound up about, it was the fact Bridge was a teammate. Pathetic. Grow the **** up, England. Capello stuck by Terry initially, bemused by the Brit obsession with gossip about the private lives of celebs. But the media decided he should go. Then the media made such a fuss about the armband doing the rounds that he could be forgiven for thinking Terry had done his time according to the media and they were ready to start building him up again. Wrong! It doesn't matter what Capello does because the media wanted rid of him ages ago. He knows he's going and he's treading water until he can escape this nuthouse of a tabloid-driven country. I can't blame him, though I do blame him for the World Cup. And that's all I'm bothered about. My mates' private lives are far messier than any celeb's.

yea but at the end off the day your mates are not in the public eye(i think!!!!)but john terry and his whole family are and they all have been in the papers for all the wrong reasons of lately and i can tell you my 8 year old reads the papers and he needs people to look up to(apart from his family)and i am sorry but john terry does not come across as a person to be respected.
