I can't ever remember them being so rattled as they are now, even when they were relegated a few year ago it didn't seem as bad as this, they are snapping away at everything.

Deep down they know O'Neill is the far superior manager in every department and they don't like it one little bit.

God help them if we do actually win the FA Cup, mass suicides galore on Tyneside.

Speaking of Noocarsle moderators I haven't seen anything of cbra for a while; he always seems to strike the right balance between banter and discussion.

People need to get over themselves, stop being so easily offended, and stop posting things they know will deffo upset people.

The mods have an impossible job keeping everyone happy, but they don't seem to make it any easier for themselves by not all pulling in the same direction. Thats not a criticism, just the way I see it. If they could actually back each other up, the rest of us plebs would fall in to place a lot more easily.

<doh> How long did it take you to write this <laugh> I'm not going to spend ages going into everything that is wrong with this post, but I'll leave you with one thought: Your oh so professional manager brought up in a press conference a belief that NUFC staff had gone to the ref at half time. This was based entirely on a "rumour" he had heard. What kind of professional brings something like that into public based on a rumour? I shan't reply to your next post as I know it will be some kind of biased drivel judging from your previous posts, but just have a thought about that.

Its difficult for them to show a united front on every subject that comes up on here or even be 100% consistent in their approach. Just not realistic when you consider the subjects that will arise, all the different people offering advice,, sometimes even two good bits of advice that offer a different solution, whether their lass/lad forgot to put mustard on her/his beef sandwich that day, and a multitude of other factors. I agree on everyone not being too sensitive but as Mush said the fact is some are at the end of the day. There is no solution. Life sucks sometimes. Might as well take it all with a pinch of salt but that's just me.

I'm a little confused. We're sitting 6th in the table, with the club being its most stable in a while, financially as well as off the pitch.

Now you're telling us that we're 'rattled' because we drew at home to our local rivals? Howay man, get real! We woke up at 35 minutes and outplayed you!

Also, you give Sunderland fans a bad name by quoting a result from MORE than 100 years ago, that is seriously cringeworthy, given that you weren't there, and you will never be able to watch it, (seeing it was before the days of television) or even give me the name of a player!

Tragic when you have to clutch at results from Edwardian times, but I suppose that is the sad reality of being a Sunderland fan. In our shadow for the last 40 years <laugh> , you have to find some sort of comfort!

    Yup, that's a fact.

I feel no affiliation with that result though, seeing as it was played so long ago.

I don't dish out wind-up attempts though. I'm simply honest in my views, and as I'm a mag often posting on the Sunderland forum, many people will instantly take a defensive stance before they've even read a word. That's just part and parcel of it really. But as for one point you mention:

Whilst we can try to avoid confrontations, they will never, ever be eradicated out of the forum, much in the same way you could never eradicate it out of society. Humans are humans, we all have different views, and sometimes they will clash. I have never came across a forum in my many years of using the internet where there hasn't been arguments and name calling from time to time. You simply can't avoid it. The only thing you can do, however, is to prevent it from taking over the forum and causing damage to the discussions and debates on here. As many have said before, not biting and not getting so wound-up plays a big part.

But anyway, I really think this is just the remnants of the emotions of the derby. Give it a while and most things will die down again I'm sure. Although, when you have people saying stuff like this:

It may take a lot longer for things to return to normal as fuel keeps being added to the fire. The worst thing is, some people think they're clever by writing stuff like this in threads which have absolutely nothing to do with it, but all they're doing it damaging their own forum by 1). setting off more arguments and 2). derailing a thread which was trying to reach a solution.

You're entitled to your view mate. We'll never know what drove GS to take the desperate action he did.

I disagree with your stance , but as a much wiser man than me once said, "I defend your right to say it. "
