Got to say that was a result no one expected.
The boys ran and ran and ran.

John Stead was a man possessed top stuff.

Brett and John have to play every game, they looked good again tonight,I will say it 100 times, they are the boys who can keep us in the championship.

Special mention for our young winger, great start to your city first team start.you look a very confident young man.

Let's go again against the bluebirds three more points please, that would make a exceptional week.

Well done players that was a great result tonight.

Surely the manager requires some praise for motivating them to run like "men possessed", giving some "youth a chance" and playing 2 up front?

i wouldn't say nobody expected it red robin, ive watched lcfc for many many years, and ive sort of come to expect the unexpected as it were.

i said on another thread, before last nights game, i wouldn't put it past us to lose to you and then go to reading on sat and beat them, that is just the sort of season were having, tho having said that, i guess its pretty much like all the others, well apart from the one in league one, which was very enjoyable lol.......:emoticon-0111-blush

Well said Bansky will we hear Red Robin congratulate Del now? Or will he wait till our next defeat and write a longer thread on how he is not experienced enough and he never liked any of his buys?
Listening to it on radio (****ing back injury but I guess if I was there I would of shot some ****er celebrating and my staples fly out) Pearson and Foster were brilliant!

Motivation is his job isn't it??......should be doing that every game.......as to playing two up front..some having been shouting this for weeks....including playing Pitman.
DM gave youth a chance cus we had injuries...........................Surely this is why the manager gets paid.

Having said that....deserved win and a welcome 3 points at long last....long way to go and we need much the same over the next coming weeks PLEASE!

Does this not apply to Jon Stead and all then? Surely pro footballers should be able to motivate themselves shouldn't they? its what they are paid for.

Are you saying DM was saying to them " Don't bother much tonight if you dont feel like it"

I would say its more that they were scared to play. the crowd getting on their backs for every single mistake. I would say negative fans are more to blame for a seeming lack of motivation..

Anybody who knows anything about football will know throwing an 18 year old in to a game like last night is a very BIG GAMBLE, who would have got the blame had that gone wrong?

4-4-2 some wanted it and got it, it worked. It wont work every time, thats just the way it is... guess who will get the blame then?

Surely that same person is due a bit of credit when it does go right!

Can't blame the fans for going 7 games without a win......the players looked more motivated last night, was that down to the negative fans??? Strange statement.
I did give him & the players credit for last nights game but that was the first 3 points in eight games....If we get a good result against Cardiff, I will give him even more credit!!

100% agree the management team get paid to organise, motivate, and get the best out of his players, last night he did that.
well done Del,but we need 5 or 6 more of these to stay up.

Lets start with Cardiff Saturday in front of the cameras.:1980_boogie_down:

Our players were certainly motivated - their work rate was phenominal - out ran a Leicester side whose wage bill is probably quadruple ours.

There lies our problem. teams will be alot more motivated to beat the big spenders.

I hope we take more of a back seat next year in the spending dept (hopefully a couple of the 3 teams that come down will panic buy alot of players to take pressure off of us), Sven made it far too public that we could spend what we want on who we want, and that just pissed off every team that headed to the KP.

You could be right, but hopefully a lot of clubs will realise you can't buy yourself out of this league!
