In the short term, basically what I said: a cull of the first team squad and we'll limp on with the kids. Longer term, it depends what happens with HMRC. If it's a killer bill, we'll go under and relaunch as a newco; if it's manageable we'll survive in our current form. Either way, we'll be starting with a bare bones squad and it'll take years to get back to our current strength.
Problem with this is HMRC will appeal regardless of the decision. Therfore this liability will hang over your club for years. That is why I cant see you coming out of admin as no one would be daft enough to buy yous, well apart from whyte and we all know why he done it, while this remains. Newco it is then, been the plan from day one.
I`d go along with that being the most likely scenario assuming the running costs outwith salaries - such as policing etc - can be met. Fulfilling fixtures might then become an issue
and how long after that until you get to a respectable strength, capable of mixing it with the big boys of Scottish football like Celtic, Dundee United and Hearts?
Liquidation looks to be the only realistic outcome in all seriousness. Unless some mad multi millionaire Gers fan - who cares not a jot for cash - comes in at the last minute to rescue them, I just can't see it happening. Newco Rangers looks to be the only solution, it will be a long hard road though and promotion from Div 3 to SPL in 4 years will be no easy task.
Wouldn't it be funny if the SPL clubs started nicking all the young Rangers talent when they are in Division 3 for cut back prices and leave them in the stands to rot. How ironic would that be
