    Liverpool.

Liverpool have a great history and are a big club like us but Man City are just a pathetic little club no-one outside of England had ever heard of prior to their lottery win.

Well since two of the clubs are no longer big, it has to be city. By process of elimination.

Mind you if UEFA listen to the "Council of Europe" and its declaration of Citys sponsorship deal with Etihad is "improper" it might swing back to liverpool.

    Bloody hate leeds fans though.

    define 'rivals' please <ok>

In terms of challenging for honours at the moment it's clearly City I'd say.

But 'rivalry' will always be Liverpool, atleast until/if City get a substantial amount of trophies to class themselves as true greats of English football.

I might be wrong. I won't be voting as I'm not a UTD fan - but that's how I see it. And I believe a similar thread was created a while back and UTD fans said Liverpool.

    Strange thing to say <yikes>

Football's about winning trophies is it not?

On pure rivalry it's surely Liverpool.

    Not for most football fans.

Sure winning trophies is a bonus, but isn't the be all and end all and certainly isn't the reason why I started following my club.

I always thought United fans hated Liverpool more but viewed City as bigger rivals

Leeds? Seriously? Like ****, they'd like to think so as they drool with envy and spite from over the pennines but they are just an irrelevance.

For pure benevolent hatred, Liverpool. Always has been, the City rivalry has up to now mainly been pretty friendly, them being self deprocatingly **** and knowing their real place.

It's starting to spice up now though and on purely footballing terms it is them.

    All round though, Liverpool definitely.

    Liverpool

City are just like the Chavs a temporary blip in the world order of the Prem League, they will fall back into oblivion when the FFP fully kicks in, due to being small clubs (this not not a wum attempt)

agree, you wanna beat city like you'd wanna beat Real n co, to be te better football team, the lfc rivalry has little to do with football as it is now as we've not been a threat to UNited since god 1862:)

    This <ok>

We've had multiple Rivalries that were bases purely upon chasing the title, but as the fade off, we care less about them. Liverpool have always our biggest rivals regardless of league position.

    Depends on age I think

probably get stick from some but Leeds only mattered for a short time, but it was long enough for UTD to be a dominant force. So the glory hunters and new fans saw it as rivalry for a while. In all truth it felt more like a derby

The real rivalry is and always will be LFC for us old timers. There is history and I suppose envy as LFC were so successful for a time

The likes of CFC and MCFC are 'threats' currently short term but may become rivalries if it becomes long term and the 'Welcome to Manchester' posters etc continue

Mostly though for the younger/newer fans

Us oldies probably always see it as LFC

    Liverpool.

If City win the league this year I'll be annoyed, but not much more than if it was Chelsea or Arsenal. If Liverpool won it I'd be ****ing homicidal.

Fortunately no one will have to fear for their lives for another few decades <ok>

If it s about rivalry for top trophies then it must be City. This because the scousers are not good enough to come close. They will only get what SAF will allow them to have...like the CC in which he plays his reserves and youth team.

But in terms of pure hatred then it has got to be the moronic low IQ scousers.

    Liverpool.

Citys and Chelsea will come and go but our real rivalry with Liverpool will always be there <ok>

Although as someone stated, this will change with generations as Liverpool continue to be ****.
