What Ferrari and Red Bull are trying to do with the exhaust is the same thing that Mclaren and Sauber are already doing right?
I'm not sure RBR copied this from McLaren as they said it was always planned to bring this upgrade towards the end of testing. It just looks far too advanced to be done within a month.
Where did you hear that? I thought Red Bull were confident in their weekend car. Not to naysay that but I read that Red Bull announced the exhaust revision the day after the MP4-27 was launched. Does anyone think all four of them might come a cropper since they're obviously feeding exhaust gases to the diffuser for purely aerodynamic gain?
Well I also read that Ferrari had denied their imminent revisions would need to be crash-tested but I can't find where now so perhaps I'm just spreading scurrilous rumours.
Announced after the HRT release, maybe they're copying HRT (thats my rumour) Oh and tomorrow morning will mark less than 10 days till the race
That website also says Ferrari are doing alot of testing with old drivers (Mika Salo!?). I hope Mclaren havn't let a big advantage slip by revealing their hand with their unveiling! (although we all moan that the shows don't reveal anything!
If teams want to copy the McLaren exhaust concept and test with 4 hours of free practice each race, then good luck to them
That Mika Salo test is interesting. He knows nothing about the reason and Ferrari are not telling him. He will be running the 2010 car though I think
If that is true, then they must be testing components for 2012. Maybe they have been able to adapt the back end of a 2010 to mimmick a 2012 car so they can test exhaust configurations?
Clearly he's the outside bet to be Massa's replacement (Salo was always class for me back on F1 Manager, that ultra-realistic pinnacle of F1-related videogames...)
