No, that's not true. The Leeds work was great, but it's not undone. It allowed us to draw without too much damage
I couldn't care less if they deserved it! Leeds deserved to win but I wouldn't offer to give them some points. Letting a striker cut inside and run at goal is bloody amateur.
A good point guys! Just goes to show how far we've come since the last time we played! Good luck for the rest of the season!
If there's one positive, it's that we appear to be able to scratch a couple teams off the list of contenders...Blackpool is ten points out and fading, and Hull's run of draws continues. Very much looking like a three-team race, barring a massive run from Boro or Birmingham.
Ah there I can't agree. I keep a damn good eye on both Fox and Harding, wih thighlights and other bits of action, and they both have their faults. Fox gets attacks down his side, alarmingly often, and he is occasionally out of position, being upfield. Harding is actually better in some respects. poorer in others. Obviously Fox is better overall as he is the first choice. Harding is an excellent backup.
Indeed. But look at their remaining schedule; because of goal differential, they're effectively eight back with a game in hand, and they have a very difficult slate of games. It will take a massive run from them to overcome both ourselves and Reading.
I've thought for a long time we'll finish 3rd. Maybe I don't want to build up all this optimism only for it to come crashing down.
I am finding the Guly and Harding bashers beginning to get obsessive and annoying. Yes Guly was ineffective on Tuesday, and Harding was like a curates egg, but they still put in a good shift, if there is any blame to be laid, it was the inability to finish a string of fine chances, and Lala was as guilty as any but I don't see anyone criticising him.
I guess you deserved a point but it was our wasted chances that gave you the chance, not long ago we would have capitulated and lost, at least you came to play football, well done, would be good if you can keep the run going that the Play offs will be your reward and we know what a lottery that is. We may yet meet again!
Mood seesawing. Getting 3 points at Leeds seems a defining moment, then drop 2 points and I'm taking that as proof we will fail. Truth is that there are still a lot of games to go. I think a draw at Leeds and a win last night would feel better because that would be a draw away and a win at home....what we expect. However, it's still 4 points which ever way you look at it. Still feel grim this morning though.
Biggest problem on here is the violent over-reaction to the knee-jerk response two minutes after a disappointment! Lot's of heat but not much light!Sometimes I almost feel we need one of those prompts like you get when you are about to delete a file, "are you sure?". Maybe something like, "do want to think about this for a bit longer before posting?" might do the trick. Yes, the result last night was disappointing, but 4 points from the last two games is not at all bad. As for picking on individual players as being "simply not good enough", rsther than for dropping a clanger, well they can hardly be blamed for that really, can they! We were in L1 last season. Having said that, there is nothing wrong in criticising players for a below-par performance on here, after cheering the team to the rafters at St Marys. It would be good if there was a little perspective shown though. Expressions such as, "he should never be allowed to wear the shirt again!" after one non-descript performance are a joke, particularly when referring to a young player stepping up due to injuries. As far as Harding is concerned, I think it's complicated as he has strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the day it's down to Nigel to choose the right players for the particular game from those who are available. If he shouldn't have picked Harding, then who?
I think I'm suffering from mild depression after we threw 2 points down the drain last night. We should've been out of sight in the first half. Reading are closing in fast and West Ham will go top tonight.... I need some beer, and fast....
Not negative just how I felt after the game and after a long day at work. As for saying a feeling contributes to what we deserve get a grip.
