I think, with some of the toy-throwing, it should be UNICEF

The Norwich board and management have done a fantastic job of developing a football club with limited resources.
It is very hard indeed to dislike most Norwich supporters and their reputation as a family club is well deserved.
With pretty much an entire county as their catchment area (actually two when you consider the balls up that Ipswich are making of things) they should really now go on to be a major force in British football.

But they won't. Why? because they don't have the very rich (and usually foreign) owner to take the next step up. For sure the big investment does not guarantee success and involves a whole bunch of compromises about the principles of your club which can be hard to swallow but without it the barriers are pretty much insurmountable in the modern game . Norwich fans will know this only too well and will look on the documentary with mixed feelings. They may very well be better off to stay as a solid well-financed club with limited ambition. But many will look at the long term prospects at clubs like QPR and wish for more.

The title says a Norwich fan's take on the 4 year plan - why are people surprised when he references Norwich?

Most of the Norwich posters are ok, we know which ones the tools are - and I don't mind banter, but some of the gloating prats were starting to grate.

We've not been entirely blameless as Northolt banned AndrewQPR for his endless wumming on their board as it was getting embarrassing.

interesting post. anyone who knows the norfolk-suffolk divide will tell you it is impossible for anyone in suffolk to be a norwich fan and anyone in norfolk an ipswich fan so the fact they are doing rubbish makes little difference. its not strictly true but as catchment areas go the football clubs represent their counties, not just the city/town. anyway, you are right we won't become a force without a rich owner but what may have been missed by one or two rangers fans is that we have no interest in taking that step. we are more than happy with the plan our current board has in place for stability and long-term prosperity. it might not be on the same grand scale that qpr are aiming for but ours is (and please don't take offence) probably more likely to work as we are similar size clubs. ours means maintaining a low but stable wage cap, signing young, talented lower league players and expanding the capacity to 35,000 so that we don't even need the sky money to operate. you might suggest that isn't very ambitious but if the whole football economy ever comes crashing down we would be one of the strongest clubs around. we aren't chasing glory - we were close to going under three years ago - we just want our club to be stable and succeed at staying in the premier league. this is why the original poster said they didn't want what qpr have had... we are dead chuffed with what we are doing <ok>

I used to live in Ipswich and know someone who lives there who is a Norwich season ticket holder. You're right though, people from Ipswich wouldn't start following Norwich just because Ipswich are S**t. He supports them because his Dad does.

Look. I like Norwich as a team, no problem at all, got their heads screwed on with a board trying to do the best for the club and their fans. I don't like Holt, but then there are loads of players I don't like (JB is one a bit closer to home), so what. For the record, the stuff last year was actually quite limited on both sides---- a couple of WUMers from Norwich, a few up for a fight on ours. It is history, get over it.

The post is someone elses (Savvy Monkey, A Norwich fan) view of a film about our club. I found his views interesting and not at all patronising... The film is public property, people can say what you like about it.
We "knew" what was going on, other fans/people not so deeply involved did not. This film is a shock/a laugh/ a history to them (There but by the grace of God go I)
I must admit I am ashamed (by connection) that this happened at MY club, and fear that we are a laughing stoock but in fact, we haven't been really...Thank goodness for that. so shut up with this QPR Norwich rivalry. It doesn't exist.

who knows, once (if) we've established ourselves and made ourselves self sufficient, maybe we'll become a more interesting purchase for a wealthier backer to move us on from a sound, financial base. if not, we won't really care. we're just happy to have our club at all <ok>

I like Norwich - the team, the place, the people (sorry rangercol). However, I still find myself hoping they loose each week. But I put this down to mere jealousy. We should be up there in mid-table!

I do fear for them if they were to loose Lambert. He is one of the best managers in the league (did his badges in Germany, tells you a lot).

Norwich Lads forgive us we do have silly sods on here ...

I respect Norwich's climb back to the top and you lot should be proud of the achievements your club has made.

I sense any crap comes from last year as we mostly outstanding and a small healthy rivalry started but having watched the film I am sure most will realise that what we had to endure as a football was monumental .

For me the best three clubs came up last year and once we get ourselves sorted then I am 100% certain we will become a major player in the premiership sadly that's because of our west London location and that has made us marketable as a future brand. Its sad but true about the UK ... London takes preference which of course is wrong but unavoidable in business and alas Football is now nearly all about business.

QPR attracted the goons and now TF and the Mittals and after them there will always be someone else queuing up .... We (the QPR fans) have to take the bullshit spotlight and its not a easy transition as like it or not this club is going to get bigger and bigger not necessarily better and i hope we keep our soul... within 5 years i know we will be playing European football and have a swanky designer West London Stadium .. we will have to deal with the amount of minor jealousy we may get in the future ... I for one will always remember my roots

Well done Swans and Norwich for great seasons

No need to bum kiss the Norwich fans.

They are doing well because they have a good manager. As soon as Paul Lambert gets snapped up when a vacancy comes up somewhere like Villa, Everton or Newcastle he'll be off and they will then fall away

I remember being a little unhappy when we put the skids under QPR's title hopes back in '76.They were a great side and deserved to go all the way, still my favourite London club.We are their bogey side though.I doubt he would go to Villa or Everton,it depends not everyone is motivated by big money.
