It seems the players are as daft as Paul Murray, wage deferrals are not an option due to the fact that would be just stockpiling more debt. Administrators cannot do that.

I think they mean they'll accept wage cuts if it means saving everyone's job. They don't want savage wage cuts AND people being made redundant.
