As a teenager, 14 to be precise, I watched both teams, my mother wouldnt let me go farther afield, but when I got my head kicked in, by twenty something year olds, at Newcastle, I stopped. not by one dick head but four or five brave geordies, after hospital care, still have the crushed ribs, disfiguered for ever, only support one team now, but still dont believe in violence/hooliganism, thats for losers. But the upside is those Warriors [ sic ] ere dead or dying. my oppinion is keep the beautiful game beautiful.. sorry if the spelling is not correct.
I'm only 30 so missed most of the hooligan era. Went to my first game in '88 when I was 6 so was only a bairn. Saw some bits and pieces late 90's but never involved in anything. Never seen the point in it at football. Fight for something worthy but over a football result, got better things to do with my time.
Keep it that way, I never knew it was going to happen, Was just a kid realy, BUTyou look after yourself, and your family, walk away.... dont,,,, ever be brave, can cost you dearly, Now how sad is that, from a lad who Just liked football, and was naive enough to support two teams?
Tragic really mate. All for loving football. As long as we have football though we will always have individual cowards who grow balls when in a group.
