Not a bad point! However... as they haven't actually scored under his management, I'm hoping it wouldn't make that much a difference ;)

If Evans is missing I'd say Dudgeon is probably the best bet, but I'd rather see him at left back being more careful with fouls than Dawson!

Well I'd go Cairney into midfield and Dudgeon at LB, with King starting and Stewart on the bench. Although if what PT says is true, it doesn't show confidence when a natural left back is having to play CM when we have Cairney, Olofinjana and Koren that can all play there.

They want energy in the centre of the park and unfortunately Oli just didn't give that on Friday and Cairney is the total opposite type of player. We aren't going to change the system so that rules Koren out of that position.

Nick is a massive Dudgeon fan, and totally believes he is the future in the left back position, and believes he offers the best alternative if Evans doesn't make it tomorrow (I was told at 7:30 it was 50/50), they have been working on it yesterday and today (yes, we did train on Sunday)

I agree with you completely with Koren playing in the middle, I would go for usuall back line, McKenna and Koren in CM, Dudgeon, King, Stewart across the park and Fryatt up top. Dudgeon will cover Snodgrass to help Dawson out, and as others have pointed out, he is a terrier and tough in the tackle. I would then go for bench of Galuci, Cooper, Bradey, McClean and Cullen. Dudgeon can cover defence and CM if we have injuries, gives plenty of attacking options off bench

For what it's worth, here's my team:

    Manonne
    Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon
    McKenna Evans
    King Koren Stewart
    Fryatt

If Evans doesn't make it then Dawson in and Dudgeon to midfield as planned. I think Cairney can come good yet but this definitely isn't his type of game.

I would be nervous about a left back by trade playing central midfield. I think anywhere other than left back and Dudgeon has looked out of his comfort zone. We have plenty of midfielders at the club, so stick one in there natural position.

This would indicate that Stewart's problems are to do with attitude rather than form or fitness and presumably related to the Leicester offer.

Phucking VVanker Pearson. So much for integrity. Hope Nick made things crystal clear to Stewart regarding the Summer.

Rubbish. He played half an hour in left midfield against Peterborough and was VERY assured. To my recollection that's the only time he hasn't played left back.

RUBBISH He isn't anything other than a very good left back or emergency left winger, I certainly wouldn't be putting him in midfield against TWS who have Snodgrass playing in a central role.

I believe Dudgeon being played out of position created one of the Burnley goals at the KC?

This is not a criticism of Dudgeon, he is a very good player, but he is not a central midfielder, in the same way that Koren isn't a winger and Gulacsi isn't a centre forward.

Yes, but Dudgeon was brought on to cover left midfield. Which is where problems arise, he'll always revert to type and drift into areas he's familiar with ie left back. Leaving holes in important areas of the pitch.

Didn't Dudgeon start against Burnley @ home and it was Dawson that was brought on @ left midfield?

Might be wrong, but pretty sure Dudgeon started the game with Dawson been brought on to play left wing. Dudgeon had done really well until then but the pair together didnt work, Dawson doesnt know how to push forward with the ball, he just takes it 4 or 5 steps then checks inside (very frustrating), we needed to go at Burnley as soon as we conceded

Dudgeon would be my choice IF Evans failed to make it. JD would add much needed bite in the middle of the park.

Oli better suited off the bench as legs tire near the end. King and Cullen also better off the bench but IF Cammy is struggling then start King.

IF what you say is true then do we want players with that type of attitude at the club ? IF CS wants to play for Pearson instead of Barmby then he deserves all the grief he gets. Question is though will NP be at lesta come summer time anyway ?

Any definite news on the personnel for tonight's game yet? Is Evans making it? Is King in for Stewart?
