I'd be surprised if Cullen isn't on the bench after Friday's performance, but with Brady's absence, it's hard to predict which two from King, Mclean and Stewart are likely to start.
Brady was bigging up the squad rotation element in the pre-match prezzer last week. i see some taylorisms coming out tomorrow night!
Evans is a serious doubt for tomorrow currently with Dudgeon lined up to start in centre mid if he can't make it - leaving it as late as poss until decision made.
id like to see king and stewart wide, pure pace... i know stewart isnt pulling up any trees at the moment, still fancy him to cause the one moment of magic that may turn the game in our favour over mcleans efforts, and hopefully he may see kings directness at making runs and follow suit. also why is a left back being considered to come in midfield at home...thought nigel was long gone..
Don't know for certain, but I know NB was having a meeting with Cam after training today and the intention was to have 'strong words' - from the body language though, I would imagine JK to start, he has been v impressed with him in training lately.
Because if Evans can't play the other options to help McKenna and get box to box are Oli and Cairney, neither of which helps McKenna. Dudgeon will tackle and likes getting forward as well.
fair enough at bellend road, you got to take the game to them at home tho, there not real madrid... smacks of playing not to get beat rather then winning too me, which i thought he proclaimed wasnt his style..
I don't see how it's a backwards step, we've played Evans and McKenna sitting together nearly every game and Evans is possibly unavailable. We saw at Blackpool Oli doesn't help defensively or get forward enough, Cairney doesn't help defensively and after one hard tackle won't go near the ball again. Dudgeon will tackle and tends to get forward as well. Who else is there?
i know what your saying, i personally have always said 2 sitting with only 1 up top at home is overkill..but with evans i dont think its as bad, as i dont see him as defensive, i think hes an all rounder midfielder. people say koren cant play 4-4-2 with mckenna, despite one of our best performances this season coming at brighton, who where at the time one of the best attacking threats in the league, with a evans/koren partnership. im not having a go at barmby at all, i just think its strange that he promised an all out attacking hull city, and yet despite barely scoring a goal all year, we are now looking at potentially bringing a defender into midfield at home, maybe im the only one who finds that strange, just an opinion
When we signed Dudgeon weren't we told he was a left back or left winger? Maybe we've been using a winger in/covering our defence and are just going to move him into the middle. Depends on the instructions given as well. I seem to remember picking up on a game were Man U had named 3 defenders in midfield last season. EDIT: Found it, good job I don't write about John O'Shea very often, makes searching a piece of piss. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/36463-Attacking-football
I thought Dudgeon was excellent when he came on to play left wing(away at the Posh I think) and he has played the latter stages of the odd game in the middle, I've no problem with it.
This can't be right. Dudgeon CM? Dudgeon should be bloody Left back tomorrow! Also; since when has Evans actually been a doubt? Taken from club website "The Tigers have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Tuesday night's game against Leeds United, although they will once again be without Irish winger Robbie Brady." so BRADY is out? Stewart's a shoe in to start then.
You are free to take on board, or ignore, any comments posted, but I'd suggest you should trust the info you get from PT.
one of the biggest reasons we arent scoring goals is we dont get enough men in the box, the wingers dont attack the back post, and the 2 midfielders behind koren very rarely venture into the box...maybe dudgeon will prove me wrong and get into the box more then evans.., i hope so but not so sure, i reckon 0-0 will be a popular bet at the betting booths again.
That's fair but I'm just going from what the club say. It seems daft they wouldn't say it if that was the case.
