Doesn't take much. A Ronaldo tap in against Levante is usually enough...

You speaking about that backheel? I know you gotta have the balls or ego to do it but it wasn't anything that 99% of the players can't do, they just choose to not be pricks <ok>

I don't think it was even the back heel - it was after that I think. A simple Ronaldo tap in is enough to get Berb moist...

Disagree, 99% of players don't have the skill or vision.... Play the way you are facing is generally the golden rule, except, if a backheel will lead to a goal. Good to watch for the fans too. Showboating for the sake of it is pointless, but if the piece of skill leads to a goal, you can't question it, same with the Ballotelli goal of his chest, pure instinct, difference beteween the average player and the world class.

A good player will look to play a forward pass first (gazza a good example, head always raised looking for a gap, or even Scholes), then a sideways pass, or finally a pass backwards to keep possesion, if any of those options are not available, then is the time for a bit of magic.(unless you are a defender or David Luiz) Doing it for a purpose is when you marvel at the players quick thinking. Dennis Bergkamp, was the master of this, followed a close second by Cantona. these players had so much skill they could break the rule, if the forward pass was not on, they would delay, or move into a position where it was. Pure genius. They make it look effortless, like they have all the time in the world.

Was RVP showboating against LFC by striking a volly straight into the goal? No, he is good enough to do it, so he does. World class players do things others can't.

Jordon Henderson is a good example, capable of magic, but always plays the simple ball. Would love it if just every now and then he tryed a trick or a bit of magic, surely as a spectator that's what you want to see.

A good post actually Bazray, you've suprised me.

Apart from the Henderson part <laugh>

In regards to Henderson , alot of players have immense skill in training or in warm up before the match when there is no pressure but when under real pressure of the game / intense pressure from opposition players, they simple aren't capable of procuding such skill. Suarez may be capable of such but I wouldn't put Henderson in that category personally.

I don't think Henderson will reach quite those levels, but he is a hot prospect. He's England U21 captain and often plays very well for us. His main problem I see at the moment is the pressure in certain games gets to him, like the cup final for example. If he can boost his confidence and actually try something exciting it could well pay dividends. Sometimes It looks like he's scared of getting a bollocking off the 'senior' players if he ****s up!

Given time though I definitely see him becoming a very good player, he certainly has the energy and passion for it.

Don't get me wrong, I was not placing him in the ranks of a Gazza or a Bergkamp. Just saying, he has skills, but never displays them. Would love to see a little nutmeg or a Cruyff turn once in a while, he has the ability.

He's getting plenty of experience, with age as he develops I'm sure we'll a different side to him. I reckon he's going to be the real deal, given time.

I like him, his control is first class, but does not really look like an athlete to me, has a strange form, a little slouched, can't really explain it.
