But nothing - I was just pointing something out to KH The rest of my post offered a more general assessment of the situation which happened to be rather more positive than some others - yours included. Just my opinion however.....
no Relayer, im not having a pop at you...im just saying that alot of people agree and pointed it out 'but'........as in for me..'but' would that still be enough to satisfy our overall downfalls in these type of matches...my apologies if you thought i was refering to you
however i dont feel the need to justify my support just because i had some negative points to make..its how i live my life..i give an opinion on things...and if someone else did the same..then i would not question there support as 30 years of following a team has taught me that opinions are both negative and positive.....im not they type of bloke to tell my woman that the sun shines out of her arse even if i think that she has ballsd up for me...however..tommorow is another day....and then i probably would
No probs DM The defensive frailties are concerning but the overall performance today -3 regular first teamers - was pretty good. And the goals conceded came as a sult of basic errors by two of our best players this year. That alone is difficult to sanction for. Last week was dreadful and a response was needed. In all but the result I think that was achieved. I hoped we would win today but frankly had written off the 3 points before we started. Pity this match had to follow the Gooners debacle but that's the way the fixtures fell.
There is far too much doom and gloom on here, 3rd place has by no means "evaporated", we are 4 points clear of Arsenal and 7 of Chelsea. Last week we played awful but bar the first 2 games of the season, that was probably the only occasion where we have been so poor but it can happen like it did to Man utd when the played newcastle, regarding todays performance we dominated the first half and got hit by the sucker punch, the second half we allowed Young too much space and he punished us but remember we were without Parker, Bale and VDV so it was always going to be tough against the reigning champions, if those trio return against everton next week I am confident we will take the 3 points. It's natural to be looking over our shoulders after seeing the gooners win their last 2 but I don't believe they will be able to maintain that consistency until the end of the season and In my opinion we are a better team then them
ohh i believe we can get 3rd place YK....i just think that the step between that and real contention is what we are failing to grasp.....and that is a valid debate no doubt...i honestly think for all the positives of Redknapp..he is tactically inept.....and i know we are a better team than Arsenal..
By "real contention" I take it you mean challenging for the title in which case no we probably don't have the squad to seriously think about winning it YET, but did anyone realy think we would mount a challenge? You can criticise Redknapp for tactics but with this squad could we win the league through tactical decisions?, Redknapp is a motivator not a tactician and I believe he has got the best out of the players he has got, 3rd place is about right for now but hopefully we can carry on progressing and mount a serious challenge next year
a motivator not a tactician? so he would make a good number 2? i think you need both to win...basically you are saying we need better players..because Redknapp will motivate them better? really?
I am saying to win the league we need better players and we are where we are at the moment because Redknapp has got the best out of the current squad through man management
yeh its obvious we need better something to move onto another level....on the brighter side we can all watch motd2 now cos the spurs match is over
We're still third and if the ref had the same "interpretation" of the handball law as the one in the Chelsea game then we might not be reading this thread.
Luke, give us something, were watching our season fall to pieces and you want us to slate one of our best young players, at least let us blame the ref.
Good comment. Walker isn't a RB in the traditional way, he's a right sided version of Bale and a luxury that Spurs can ill afford against decent sides, playing him today was a huge mistake by Redknapp.
Who gives a F about possession, as dominating possession but doing sweet fa with it and then getting turned over, is falling to pieces, especially as this against another big club. For me, football is about end product, not about having lots of the ball but no ideas. If arry has anything about him, he has to give the players a real kick up the backside and get them up for seeing out the season but i suspect that will be tough as the players will be thinking "you're deserting us come may"
He is also still young and will learn from experiences like these. I still think we are set up to beat most of the teams in the PL but struggle against the really top sides. We should still get 3rd though.
Walker had a bad game, for sure. He has to learn that that is what happens when you go to sleep against the top sides. Just as concerning to me, what our almost total lack of creation. We never really threatened, despite all our possession. Modric played completely in the wrong place, plus no VDV or Bale, seemed to add up to no ideas!
Playing two holding midfielders and moving our most creative player out wide probably had a lot to do with that, NSIS. Starting Kranjcar or Rose on the left and leaving out either Sandro or Livermore would've given us more creativity. If we'd have gone with our usual 4-4-1-1 with Kranjcar in behind Adebayor, Modric in his usual role, Rose replacing Bale and Sandro standing in for Parker, then I doubt we'd have had any problems in that area at all. For some strange reason, whenever we've got a couple of injuries to our first XI Redknapp feels the need to tinker with the system.
