Well done Wycombe. A good result for us and a load of good results all round. We seemed to have a lot of shots off target. Does that mean we should have won?
No, it simply means you need players who can shoot on target. The officials were awful today & it'd be very, very interesting watching tonights highlights as I'm still not convinced Ainsworths goal went in. Clearly I'm biased, but I say Salop were unlucky not to sneak a win today.
Gills fan in peace, slightly off topic. What is going on in this league! Looks like this one is going down right to the wire, the Bury v Wycombe fixture looks like it's going to be interesting at the moment?
Brb.. I've been saying all season long, it'll go down to the final one or two games. Everyone at the top , with the exception of Chesterfield are dropping points left, right & centre. The final two automatic places could well be taken by any two from eight (teams).
Shrews should have been down to 9 men according to the Chairboys Player. One red for a two handed push in Beaver's face and the other for stamping on Ainsworth's face. Wycombe were the better side, especially in the first half. The Shrew's goal was a gift because of a silly mistake by Bloomfield.
have you been to stockport away they kicked loads of our fans out last season, their stewards are a disgrace
Wycombe are well organised, played much better than us in the first 20-30mins. We didn't play as good as we can & haven't done for quite a while. Thankfully, the issue of other teams dropping points has kept us up there. The officials today were bloody awful, truly truly awful. It's an issue the FA/FL have to address, as I'm sure we can all claim to having had bad officials this season. Wycombe were probably worth a draw, but the equaliser is of doubt therefore we should have won. If the tv proves me 100% wrong tonight I'll happily eat my hat.
Yeah agreed the refs in our league mainly have been poor all season Gillingham have had some crap refs for many of our games and I could say a few have cost us a few points or even a win or two more than we have
thanks for being honest jenny,i will wait till i see ainsworths goal before commenting whether it was or not a goal but i am happy with a point at your place and even happier that results went our way elsewhere , and even happier the ginger one didnt score, maybe both our teams could still go up
Apparently Shrews player is already showing that the ball was not even close to the line. I would hardly call Wycombe's performance disciplined with due respect. I have never seen a more open game with them at our place. We had several late chances due to the fact that the Wycombe defence and midfield went AWOL. (In fact one break of four attackers on one defender which we bungled). As far as Ainsworth and Davis was concerned, the former had hold of Davis preventing him from getting away and I was surprised Ainsworth wasn't booked as well. The Sharps incident was a case of tit for tat which the ref sorted by speaking to both players. A ludicrously inept performance by the officials for our second home game in a row
