Never mind your telented but flawed geniuses... your don't leave your missus alone types, or can't stay out of trouble for a minute types or the can't leave twitter alone morons.

This is what i can a class act and an example to all footballers.

I say fair play to arteta and i wish there were many more like him playing in our league and a LOT LESS of the england international types that seem to think they can do anything (there's one at every big club you know who i mean)

Fair play to Arteta,it would have been easy for him to hide his praise and thanks for LFC staff and our supporters in the wake of recent events involving our club.

But he told it like it is.

    Cheers Mikel.

    Good on him
It is horrible to see any player get taken off like that. No matter what team they play for

After the bad press we have had this a nice change He is an example of a good man even thought that when he played for the blue S....E

Agreed. I read the open letter of the club site (this one appears to have been down most of the afternoon) and thought Thank You. It's good to see.

Arteta is a class act. Hope all the young players at Arsenal learn from him especially the likes of Wilshere and Frimpong. Massive credit to all the Liverpool fans that clapped him off on Saturday. The sad thing is something like this will never get much attention in the papers.

It's oil and water. How do you expect our scummy media to applaud somebody being a gentleman?

I think more than anything it was the complete shock of being collided into without seeing it coming that done the majority of the damage. If you know it's coming you can prepare. In a sense a bit like someone jumping out on you from behind the door, if you know they're there it's no problem - if not it makes you jump.
Obviously it hurt, so that's not the best comparison! But the collision didn't look too bad in my opinion.

Nice to see his comments though, seems like a genuinely nice guy. I wish him all the best <ok>

I don't remember any praise for Alan Smith doing the same thing, despite the treatment from some less than classy fans <whistle>

Man Utd's Smith grateful to Liverpool staff, fans
    tribalfooball.com - October 19, 2006

Manchester United striker Alan Smith is grateful to Liverpool medical staff after the support he received at Anfield last February.

The forward broke his leg in an FA Cup fifth-round tie.

But the quick and efficient work by the Kop medical staff, as well as the concern shown by players in the days afterwards, is something Smith will always remember. He said: "If they hadn't acted as swiftly as they did at the club then things may have been worse. And I appreciate that so much and it will be nice coming face-to-face to say thanks. I can't speak highly enough of everybody who helped me. This is the first time I will be able to thank in person the people at Liverpool who helped me that day. "You can't put a price on the lengths people go to help and sometimes that is not seen. "After the game John Arne Riise got in touch as did most of Liverpool's players and players from every other club."

Smith does not even remember the incident when some Liverpool fans outside a pub threw stones at his ambulance as it went to hospital.

I'm sure if this website was running in 2006 he would of had a similar thread created about it.

Throwing stones at the ambulance is pathetic - unless of course the back doors were open <laugh>

I remember that incident-and the follow up. No decent football fan wants to see an opponent genuinely hurt-unfortunately there's always the odd few idiots amongst us.

So the lads who supposedly stood outside a pub and threw stones all had 'im a Liverpool supporter t-shirts' on?

And there where no other ambulances on Liverpool's roads that day?

If anyone did what you described they are vermin and scumbags.
