http://sport.stv.tv/football/scotti...ine-have-problems-with-new-rangers-spl-entry/ "Aye, but Scottish fitba will be ****ed without Rangers an aw that..." Funny how it's mostly huns and ex-huns who say that and no one else.
That's what I want. No ****in way should be we kept in the SPL by vote or some such ****. Div 3 and work our way back up. Or **** off to the conference
I'd prefer Division 3 than restart in the SPL with hundreds of punishments to ensure Celtic win the league every year. Lets see Celtic keep all their players when they have no competition, no chance of European football and no TV exposure.
Might put in danger the bears day out , over 2000 rangers fans are planning to go to Dunfermline v st mirren to help cash strapped pars .Heard some bad ones , in Daily Record on Saturday
Coefficient points lost TV deal lost Competition in a league where 1 team can win Explain where I am wrong.
What you're effectively saying is that the SPL would be better off with a rump Rangers team made up of kids and bullshit Bosmans earning £500 per week rather than no Rangers at all. I don't think so.
We both know that the league is better off with Rangers, regardless of their size. Scotland has a population of 5 million, it would be realistic to say 700k+ are Rangers fans. How many of them are going to be interested in paying Sky an extra £20 a month to watch Celtic v Ross County, Celtic v St Mirren etc? How many people will go to the pub to watch these games? How many Celtic fans are going to keep paying £400-£600 for a season ticket when the league is merely a formality? During the 90's Rangers were at least playing world class players, making it interesting to watch. Nowadays, if the Celtic team is made of League 1/League 2 quality players then who is going to want to go out their way to watch them?
1. How can the league be better off with a Rangers team made up of diddies and with no money for years to come? 2. Do you honestly think people pay their Sky subscription to watch just Scottish football? Fucking hell 3. The same number of people who go to watch these games as there are now. 4. Who says it would be a formality? Was it a formality for Rangers during the early 90s when the likes of Motherwell and Aberdeen pushed you right to the wire? 5. We're playing with those players now and plenty of people are going out their way to watch them. You lot are so ****ing arrogant. So many years of We Are The People have got you thinking you're the ****ing be all and end all of Scottish football. Away and **** off to the lower divisions for a few years and see how much you're missed. I get the feeling you're in for a shock.
Aye, 1 qualifying round before getting pumped oot EVERY league in Europe gets a place in the Champions League so Celtic will always get a shot at it if they win the league but it's the coefficient points that determine which round you enter in. If the SPL ends up like the Irish league you could be playing 3-4 qualifying rounds and not against diddy teams either, it'll be the top teams
The SPL doesn't NEED Rangers. It all depends on another team or teams stepping up and providing a consistent challenge to Celtic. If that doesn't happen then for each one horse race season the SPL as a product will get weaker. If we end up as a newco and are admitted into the SPL, not only would that be a farce in itself, we would be a greatly reduced force and could add nothing in terms of competativeness.
It really is something that the Williams have been reduced to basing their argument around this. It's ****ing embarrassing.
This bit's the biggest heap of pish. "Nah, I was gonna sign for Motherwell when there was a two team stranglehold on the league excluding them, now that there's a chance of silverware and getting into Europe, they can take a **** tae themselves"
