BLS - 6 Gloria - 14 EL.B - 18 I can't see why we should wait until near the end of picks anymore? (with duplicates available).
Tradition. One of us might have wanted one of those numbers. Politeness. Trying to encourage more players and new members. Duplicates only bag half points. TBH, I'm not so sure the half points thing is a good idea. It worked with teams because there was a higher probability of scoring something with a team so it was only fair that you got less for doing so. Anyways, I shall plump for: 5 The mods have done the number generation, right?
I'll have 17, please. I'm not sure about half-points either, for what it's worth: let's be generous. Or fair even.
Yeah, some of these ideas are making the game a fair bit more difficult to structure and more complicated than necessary. We might need to have a rethink after two or three races, yeah? For what it's worth though, there weren't a lot of teams chosen towards the end of the year, so I don't expect duplicates to exactly light up.
Appreciate you picking me out a number Bergy, but I wouldn't want to deny someone a place in the main draw, so I've put myself down for 14b instead. If we can't fill the main draw I'll have whatever's left.
I too shall accept 6b instead cheers Bergy, unless a number isn't taken by the deadline (or 6 is Vettel or Kovi )
OK. On that magnanimous note I'll take 5b and will revise it nearer to closing time if there are any gaps.
I'm not sure how complicated this would get, but I'll float an idea anyway. After the first race is out of the way, how about the highest placed competitors in the championship take half points when we're oversubscribed? Let's say for example that I'm fortunate enough to get one of the Finnish drivers in this round, and my man pulls 80 points out of the bag. If in the next round there are 25 entrants, I should be the one who takes half points.
I'm not sure I can see the reasoning underlying that suggestion but I do like the idea of a handicap. I don't think it would be fair to only apply it in the case of oversubscription, though. If you're going to apply it then it should be to whoever's at the top of the leaderboard regardless of how many players there are. I'm all in favour of turning this into F1 Mornington Crescent.
