Nani has attacked Jamie Carragher for the tackle that injured the Portuguese winger during Manchester United's heated clash with Liverpool, claiming he refused the defender's apology because he has injured him before.

Nani was left with a deep gash on his leg following Carragher's challenge during Liverpool's 3-1 win over their bitter rivals 10 days ago for which he escaped with only a yellow card.

The 24-year-old claims the Liverpool vice-captain's tackle was "not football" and says he was tearful as he departed on a stretcher because he thought his campaign had come to an end.

“He came to apologise after the game but I was not happy,” said Nani after United's 2-1 win over Marseille on Tuesday night.

“For the second time, he made me injured. Last year, he put me out for two months and he always makes tackles like that. I'm not happy.

“I don't know what he was thinking. All I know is that what he did was not football.

“When I saw my leg, I thought my season was finished. That's why I was crying. I don't know what happened in my head.”

Despite Nani's claims that Carragher has caused him injury before, the United man was fit to play the following week after both clashes between the sides last season, as well as September's Premier League game at Old Trafford.

Nani says he expects robust challenges in English football, but believes weaker players struggle with the physicality of the game and claims referees should do more to punish bad fouls.

He added: “English football is like that. It's about tackles. Fans enjoy tackles, but you want to see more of the players who get tackled.

“If you're not strong you cannot play because you have too many injuries. I always finish games with three or four kicks on the same part of my ankle.

“I don't want protection, I just want the referee to be fair. If the tackle deserves a card, he has to show a red or yellow card. Then next time, the player won't make the same tackle.”

Sir Alex Ferguson was left furious by Carragher’s challenge, labelling it ‘disgraceful’ and refusing to speak to the media after the match.

Nani lasted 61 minutes on Tuesday night as United booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and he admits he surprised everyone with the speed of his recovery from an injury that was initially expected to rule him out for a month.

“I'm so happy because maybe my body can recover quicker,” he added. “Even the doctor is surprised that I recovered so quickly.

“My leg is OK. It's not 100 per cent but it's OK to play. Of course, the confidence is not the same because players always like to tackle me. I have to be careful and that's why I wasn't at my best.

“I'm just pleased to be back and hopefully I will be much better in the next game. I hope to be on my best form soon.

“It's still sore. I had a kick on it today. But it's recovered well and I'm just thinking about the coming days.
    ................................................................

Nani is so correct in what he says. He healed fast but the fact that thug put him out for 2 months as well last season just shows why he is such a thug.

These thugs in our game are the reason why top players want to join the Italian and Spainish and German leagues of late. Too many thugs in our game.

Brilliant mate, depending on what you like. Like a cross between the Bourne Identity and Commando (the one from the 80s with Arnie in). Directed by the same bloke who did Leon.

everyone on earthe could see that was a bad tackle, and a red card, apart from the ref.

To think Carragher willingly risked red when 2 0 up on purpose, apart from the fact that he did not intend the outcome, is just not plausable.

When United had far worse offenders, two rights don't make a wrong, but stamping on a player on the ground is far worse than what carragher did, never mind Keano's tackle or Cantona and the kick. Scholes has had a few nice ones over the years too. Carragher was on the end of a leg braker, Lucas Neil, that is what you call a really bad tackle, so I just don't think he tried ot do Nani

I heal quickly, such b*lls, it was superficial, it was a rake of a tackle not a leg braker like tried on Lucas. He lost some skin, studs will do that, bad tackle red yes but this moaning goes on and on. I really feel for the guy, all the best doctors ect when there are sunday league players taking much tougher tackling week in week out without even insurance. Nani= Nancy I'm afraid

Except it needed stitches, and I'd be very surprised to see anyone try to rake like this:

Sounds decent. I'll have to check it out, I like that kind of kind of **** (not the child abuse/exploitation I hasten to add, but the whole revenge thing)

I think it is plausible. Carragher deliberately went out to injure his own teammate (Rigobert Song) in training, so I think he's more than capable of random and unnecessary acts of spite if he doesn't like someone. As for Scholes, how many players has he injured over the last 17 years? If he's such a rough player, surely you'll be able to name one in all that time. No? Didn't think so. Scholes may be inaccurate with his tackling, but doesn't go in with enough malice to actually hurt someone.

    Nani attacks Jamie Carragher.
He said how dare Jamie Carragher force me to have to get stingey antiseptic on my scratch. It really really hurt. And Sir Alex had to kiss it better for me.The smell of whiskey off his breath was really disgusting.
And on top of that when I dropped my bar of soap in the shower John O Shea got really excited and horney and wanted to make me his bitch.:emoticon-0104-surpr<laugh>

Was that your attempt at humor? I would stick to the conspiracy theories if I were you, they give us much more of a laugh.

KPR, if you're reading this, skip to the next post...

Guys, lets try and be nice to KPR. He's obviously not all there. It kinda feels like we're picking on some angry, mentally ill man.

Its not my fault that John O Shea is a bigger shirtlifter than Greame Le Saux.Nani would want to be careful. If O Shea gets near him,he'll have more than a grazed shin to complain about.

I bet Gerrard would bend over for O'Shea if he promised to let him have one of his Premier League winners medals, because we all know how badly he wants one... maybe Le Saux would let him touch his medal too if he asked nicely :D

Morning KPR, how's tricks champ? You have any of them weird dreams last night? Don't worry if you've wet the bed, just stick the sheets in the washer- it'll be our secret. Make sure you have something proper for breakfast and not just a cup of sugar again. Speak later bud <ok>
