Going back a few post brb,but I am going to question your assumption that we have enough options to play with winger, who do you have in mind? In my mind, while we have a glut of midfielders we lack out and out wingers. While the likes of Whelpdale, Weston, Spills et al can and have player wide their natural tendencies are to come inside and we lose the width.

As for the signing I think is gives us more options in terms of the formation we can play so can only be a good thing

This is the trouble with message boards it is so difficult to be clear in what I am saying. I suppose it is because my message is undertoned with sarcasm.

You are completely and totally right BSG we lack wingers (something that really p's me off), mainly because of the side Hessy has built and the tactics he has insisted on using practically every game. < vent frustration > I would prefer a 442 with wingers, however, Hessy through his signings obviously does not unless they are on the occasional loan. So what I am trying to understand is why now, why go in for a winger, when a left back would probably have been more ideal to free up Jackman (please don't talk to me about Martin - lol), why change your tactics, he's not listened to us all season.

As it happens, it appears Hessy has temporarily pulled off a master stroke, because he was not to know the forthcoming injuries from the Plymouth game, hence Obita and the tactics may have paid off at the right time for him.

I will say this though, if it had not been for those injury's I would still be questioning Hessy now on the signing, oh in case anyone missed it, Barcham scored two goals Saturday <whistle>

brb Have you got that 'Monday morning' feeling? -Who do you want me to sort out first ? - Hess, Obita, Martin, Barcham or Westcountryblablabla (do you like my signature ?)

On a more serious note I see that we will have major problems with team selection for tomorrow - there is no real good news about the players who were injured either before or during the match. - we are unlikely to see Kedwell, Tomlin, King, & Payne - Kuffour is not fully fit, & Essam is a maybe. Hess is talking about starting with Miller - lets hope he grabs his chance like the other youngsters have done.

Yeah, I mentioned it on the other thread (Gazza). I'm not to bad as it happens this morning. Sort of a bit lost for words after taking the three points at Home Park. Despite what I have said above, if we bring the points home, I have to accept the manager got it right and I was wrong as usual!

Two home games now and I will be at both, so I will certainly be airing my thoughts after those games, hopefully all good but we are Gillingham.

Ahh I see what you mean now...

But I would suggest it would always be wise to have more than one strategy to utilise and Obita will certainly add someting to the squad in terms of playing 4-4-2. One of my main criticism of Hess is that he doesn't seem to have a back up plan so the ability to change formation if and when required is an improvement

    Here's a strange question...

How did the bugger (Obita) play in his 45 minutes on Saturday?

He was no better ( or worse ) than the rest of the team - who, due to circumstances partly beyond their control, were more intent on defending their lead ( quite naturally ) - circumstances didn't really allow for his ' expertise ' to be used.

Formation for Tuesday 1 10 ....simples.

For the bench.....BRB, Hoadie Boi, alwaysright, oh and TTSN (he'll find his way to goal I'm sure) and anyone else who takes their boots along.

It will be an interesting game if nothing else.

I'll find my way but the defence will know what way I'm heading and be able to adjust accordingly...if only I had the fleet-footed nature of a Gavin Tomlin..
