A brilliant and astute piece of City-watching from Ipswich fan Gavin Barber. Thoroughly worth a read, with a sample of his view on City below.... http://exiledrobin.blogspot.com/2012/03/tractor-boys-make-hay-whilst-citys-sun.html "They looked like a side whose sense of self-worth had been thoroughly shot to pieces: a team of cuckolded lovers wearily going through the motions of a speed-dating evening that their friends thought would be a really good idea but which actually made them feel a bit worse and a bit more lonely and they'd rather have been at home watching Coronation Street."
An honest and impartial view Bill, but one that still makes uncomfortable reading when you consider that Ipswich themselves have underperformed massively this season, yet they've still stuck 6 past us in the 2 games we've met them in without reply and have beaten us comprehensively and way too easily on both occasions.
The drain has been flowing all season with the remnants of what constitues the making of a football team. The list is too long to mention all the characteristics that we don't possess and non-existent of those that we do. No matter how much I try to avoid the obvious it still keeps coming back to bite me in the rear. I believe SL is a very astute businessman but I think he is sadly lack in football acumen, and how he can continue to have Colin Sexstone as his appointed nodding dog is beyond belief. Surely if you are a successful entrepreneur who owns a football club, from a distance, you need to have confidence in your people on the front line that you hired. I have never had a comfort zone with CS and there are a lot of others on this site who feel the same way so it's time for him to move to pastures new. The apples in the barrel have been rotting for years but unfortunately the scrumpy produced has a very bitter taste that won't go away.
Interesting reading that. especially the flooding of he midfield, and along with Kilkennys constant moaning which I have noticed a lot, coming from someone that puts maybe 2-4 nice passes during 90 minutes and scared to tackle I'm surprised no one has not floored him in training?
Gavin Barber Thats actually one of the funniest things I've read on here. ...excuse me for not laughing though. We will deserve to go down. Lets just hope our fate is kind and Dony/Cov/Ports take those places. Cant see it happening at the moment
