I think they're shot. They'll pick up 5 wins maybe , they'll finish above us unless they go into total meltdwon, isn't it? wasn't it? Marvellous. Jumpers for goal posts.

Mind you, Chelsea may have to just call themseleves sea next year:), sinking fast

Oh, the irony; from a club that is competing with Norwich and Newcastle after a 120m spend.

Can you really see Drogba, Terry, Lamps and Cole listening to Rafa? It'd be Scolari all over again!

A good manager but still not a brilliant man manager imo, I think he'd get Torres firing but that's about it!

Rafa has taken a massive bashing from the press, and coming from someone who has followed his career closely, he is no mug depsite what people say.

You forget we had egos and hugely influencial players too - Carra and Gerrard is almost identical to Lamps and Terry.

We had the likes or Torres and Macherano in there too.

He has handled a lot worse with our owners and chief execs creating civil war at the club whilst he was still expected to manage - and did, and almost won the title at the same time.

I've just finished reading "an epic swindle" which I think is essential reading for modern fans, and really shows what happened and what Rafa had to put up with - and also where he failed.

He has become damanged goods, but if someone was willing to take the punt i'd put money on that club succeeding - and that includes Chelsea which would a perfect set up for him.

^^Totally agree, Rafa got Liverpool within a whisker of winning the league, if the owners backed him at the time we would have pushed on and won the league. The owners put a back cloud over the club, the best players left, and the media framed Benitez.

Shame, good bloke and excellent tactition. Think he could be great for Chelsea.

You see, this is what they're like. They never shut the **** up about what a glorious history they have, which is probably a good thing for them as that's all they've got now, history (and a Carling Cup, apparently Messi saw the game against Cardiff and has handed in a transfer request as he wants to be part of the Anfield revolution). Scousers, every one of them a comedian. La.

Well I would keep stum if I was you. History might be all you have soon, if as expected City go on to dominate. Even then our history will be better than yours, so you won't even have that. Must hurt that.

Some good points. But what he did in his latter stages of his Liverpool tenure AND his Inter tenure was comedic.

Maybe I'd take him over Capello ;)

I always got the impression he wants to go back to Liverpool. I respect the fact he loves Liverpool andtreats himself as a fan.

Unlike Liverpool I doubt we'll bend over just because City have a few quid to spend. We didn't when Blackburn and Chelsea suddenly won the lottery and this season only one club has shown any interest in challenging the latest rich kid on the block for the title. We'll be fine for a good few years yet and won't have to thrash about bragging about our history like you clowns have been doing for the past 20 years. We also have the luxury of actually being able to generate enough income to operate effectively. Let's face it, after spending £100million on ****e players Kenny isn't going to be bankrolled again to finish 7th so you're pretty much ****ed.

I wanted him to go at the end at Liverpool - but as I've said, what he was up against during that period would of crushed most men and did take its toll in the end.

At Inter I agree he didn't do well, but picking up a team moulded to someone else which had already won everythin was always going to be difficult.

I agree about him being a fan - until Kenny took over he was dropping hints to come back all the time. He is a Liverpool fan and does turn up to the Hillsborough rememberances events and donates to a number of LIverpool charities.

He's a good manager who where's his heart on his sleeve. He has his faults, but as i've said, if someone took a punt on his I think he would do the job.

The worst Chelsea team in a decade and yet still better than Liverpool.

Sunderland and NORWICH are right on your tail for 7th ffs.
