Yes, i agree - with everyone else around us not winning, this is the day. Jacko tweeted ... ' All Addicks, go out and do the lottery - you are bound to win' which i took to be the fact that we cant do much wrong at the moment.
Had Rochdale scored their last-minute penalty, v Sheff Weds, that minute (our goal, Hudds conceding an equalizer and Sheff Utd conceding a winner) might just have been the best in all my footballing life. Nevertheless, what a day.
Sunday morning and I'm still blazing after yesterday afternoon, (or at least, the couple of minutes before five o'clock). I remember in the premier that afternoon when we drew 1-1 with Sheffield Utd and thinking that it was the beginning of the end, and it was. I think yesterday was the point when promotion really began to look like reality. Still a lot of football to be played, starting with Colchester on tuesday, but the fat lady is tuning up now!
Judging by the Blades forum, no one is worried about catching us, just fending off the others. 'The unstoppable Charlton'. Love it!
Not going to add much as captain b pretty much summed it up. I will just add that the support was as good as its been this season. It's funny what a trip to a coast side will do for peoples happiness. I've also been told that the last couple of home and away games are likely to be restricted sale to give fans who have attended priority for possible "trophy lifting games". It's likely to be a history of having been to 2 games, so just a heads up to the addicks who live further away and not able to always attend
How can you prove you went to the game? I paid cash to get into tranmere and don't recall getting a ticket for example.
I had this problem a few years back when trying to get millwall away tickets- I just took my stubs down to The commercial centre. Also, if you order over the phone, you will have a purchase history.
For the Bournemouth game I thought I had to go to the commercial centre in person to get my ticket, as I didn't have 4 away games on the system (I had been to 5, but had got my Sheff W and Exeter tickets on the day so only had 3 on the system). I went along, and they asked for my red card number but didn't ask for the ticket stubs. You should be fine.
Yeah , i think it will be an exercise to attempt to weed out the glory-hunters for PR purposes. If you show enough evidence that you are a true fan or are good at blagging, i'm sure you will get a ticket - its always worked for me.
Think your right, stu. If anyone has problems I'm sure some on her (myself inc), would be willing to help out.
Cheers lads, just happens that Preston, carlisle, oldham and udders were games i would of gone to anyway.
Not Scunny too? Must admit, for work reasons,(as we are meant to be implementing over Easter) i cant get to anything til Carlisle away - and then i'm looking to fly from Southampton airport to Newcastle and then train to Carlisle (or car hire) - flights are cheap with Flybe from Soton - but cant help feeling that we are going to have it sown up before then.
Oh well, thought they would be cheap - 100 pounds each way ! - so, i'll be driving then ! Long drive !
