Lots of rough stuff from them today and two red cards.
Reminded me of Stoke in quite a few ways.

Both sides were pretty robust, it's a derby.

I think we need to look at the influence 1970's football on Martin O'Neill... Leeds United were a nasty bunch of fouling ****ers in those days but also managed to get away with it.

    Whats your point here?

The same MON who was nurtured by the great Brian Clough, who absolutely hated Leeds?

It's more the mags try to be the old wimbelton, more like it. We all know you have a lot of French in your side they have to be chocolate soldiers all the time!

He hated them so much he took the managers job? <laugh>

I'll bet he did hate them after they sacked him though!

Yeah, you go and manage a club you hate, don't you?

As Brian Clough himself would say... "Good lad"

O'Neill's teams are instantly recognisable. Well organised, deep lying, quick on the break.

I'll give them their dues, I thought they were impressive in the first half. They certainly played more football than we did.

McClean and Cattermole's tackles were shockers mind.

So Clough had great admiration for Revie and the way Leeds played? (Its well known that he didn't by the way).

As Brian Clough himself would say... "You can all throw your medals in the bin because they were not won fairly."

I'd say more the new Everton if I'm honest. Absolute grafters, solid and hard to beat

The stats show that fourteen fouls each were committed by the teams..However, that doesn't take int account the fact that the ref turned a blind-eye to everything Newcastle done in the 2nd half..I would love to know what happened at half time to cause this change.

Alledgedly it was O'Neill who went in to see the ref at half time. I got my hands on the transcript.

"****ing hell ref, you're making this a bit obvious. I don't want any suspicion being raised, they'll be onto that £5000 I gave you in no time. You'll have to even it up."

"Ok Martin but once I do you're changing the rules of the agreement. I now require payment regardless of the result, because if I make this a fair contest they're likely to win"

Not really but I am just about done with wind ups. I have noted some take it rather seriously and I think one of the mods was getting a bit worried it would boil over. I only wanted to catch a few little fishies and don't want to be held responsible for starting world war 3 on here!
