    Hey guys.

    Quick question.

Wingers/ attacking mids or Strikers? Which do we need to improve more?

Is it our creating chances or finishing that is not good enough?

Our general play, passing, defending, team spirit and movement is very good. We just need goals.

Creating chances certainly isn't an issue - 21 times we've hit the woodwork this season. 5 times more than Man City who are 2nd in the list.

There have also been about 3 or 4 games at Anfield where keeps have pulled off World Class saves as well so which on another day would have have picked us up a few more points.

I'd like to see a poacher - someone like Defoe or the Owen of old. Fowler is back on the market, maybe he could do a job in the short term <whistle>.

Also Downing seems to have been improving slowly the last few weeks and he's actually taking his man on and sticking decent crosses into the box so winger isn't too much of a priority for me.

Priority must be given to a striker. However, we need to replace Maxi, probably Kaut and find a long term replacement for Gerrard.

Thought it was 24? Might be wrong though.

It's at least 24,can anyone find the true figure on this?

I realise its a bit of a side issue, but its constantly being under-quoted.

Would prefer a decent striker if I had the choice. Our chance conversion rate this season has been shocking but in other areas we have looked good.

A propper, creative central midfielder would allow Suarez to play further up and not drop deep to create something from nothing (Not adam). I think we'd see much more goal threat from him as such. Still need a more rounded and clinical finisher to play along side him though.

I thought during the game yesterday they brought up a stat which said 21? Maybe that was just in the league? Or maybe I'm completely wrong and it is 24, in which case that backs up the point even more!

Right wing, central mid and striker, all need to be better than what we have (not squad players) and this will be difficult and cost £$£$£ but it is what must be done to move on to the next level. Hopefully we can rectify at least one or two of the areas that need to be improved. A world class forward is a must$£$£$£$£$

really think we've missed out on some top options..
why were we not interested in:-

    Demba Ba,
    Pogrebnyak,
    Papa Cisse,
    many others..

these players all came in for around the £10m mark or lower, and they all have a decent strike rate and all bust a gut to get right into the position to score.
Even when andy carroll's playing, we lack men in the box, if no-one's there, what are the chances of scoring?

the reason we got undone at arsenal is because they have a player than can score, however well we played, we didn't take our chances, and RVP did.
    that was the difference..

Anyway, the team is still a work in progress, but i think we definitely need to bring in another front man, this just proves that it doesn't need to be a big money signing in my opinion.
