For Bruno's sake, i hope he comes good. being an F1 driver is a tough enough job as it is, being an F1 driver with the surname Senna must be terrible. All that expectation, all those miracles you're asked to perform, and your only really an average driver, unlike your legendary uncle. Must suck.

As Gordon Ramsay would say "Done"

Well he'd add a few expletives too, but i'm not in that sort of mood.

I find it interesting what he has to say about the clumsy clash with Schumacher at Interlagos:
‘Michael ended up with a puncture when I didn’t budge,’ said Senna, with barely concealed pleasure.
‘All the drivers have a light relationship — until there is a clash on the track. I’m pretty cool with everybody, but Michael came to tell me he wasn’t particularly happy with our close encounter. I just wished him a happy Christmas…’

How comprehensively would Senna need to beat Maldonado for his season to be considered a success?

Because, y'know, scraping victory against the F1 equivalent of Bambi wouldn't be anything to crow about.

The thing is, they're both quite fast, just one is a bit untidy (Senna) and the other a bit accident prone (Maldonado), if they sort out those issues they'd both look at home in F1.

The problem for Bruno is that Maldonado is actually quite underrated. If he could improve his sunday pace he'd be a very good driver (same problem as Bruno really) He's some statistics for you.

Qualifying

2011
Rubens Barrichello 10
Pastor Maldonado 9

2010
Rubens Barrichello 12
Nico Hulkenberg 7

Now i know rubens had a worse season in 2011, but this has to show Pastor was hardly driver on the grid. Not forgetting he is a GP2 champion.

Its not going to be easy for Bruno to beat Maldo by enough to impress people.

You are very much on the mark on that one- I feel Maldonado is unduly underrated because 1) he has a very significant backing 2) (this makes things worse) the backing comes from Hugo Chavez

He also had the issue of being stuck in last year's dog Williams and taken out just when he was doing well.

<laugh> In fairness, Williams have got what looks like on paper a very good pairing, especially with Wurz to mentor the drivers and the up-and-coming Bottas breathing down their necks if someone slips up.

Or change his name to something more appropriate. Bruno Bernoldi has a nice ring to it.

Or is it because Hulkenberg is probably the most overrated driver in the last few decades?

He earned my respect today. Fully deserves to be in the Williams.

It's a shame for him that Alonso and Perez will be remembered as the stars of today's race, because if those two finished in the position where they qualified, Senna would undoubtedly be the driver of the day.
