When the administrators said there was enough money available to pay the February wages, does anyone know did that money include the amount needed to go into the EBT trust ? Or do they to get money from elsewhere for it?
There is no debate to be had here. That's the first correct thing you've said. Clearly I got wummed by you, and I bit. The level of nonsense you're now speaking gives it away. In a nutshell... EBT's are cheating. False. EBT's are cheating if the tribunal is lost. False. You then equated EBT's to benefit fraud. Pathetic. You then quote "anycunt" to say that tax fraud is as bad as benefit fraud. Well, duh. If that's your idea of a "roasting" then Sunday dinner in your hoose must be pretty ****in ****.
Absolutely correct. why are you telling me something I already know? Misapplying EBT's is, of course, cheating. Should Rangers lose the tribunal they will be shown to have cheated. You think it just becomes a debt and that is true. A debt accrued as a result of cheating.
This really is not about EBTs at present. IF Rangers did give players 2 contracts, then they broke SFA rules and gained an unfair advantage over every other team, that is by my definition simple cheating. I would say that cheating would be defined by the fact that if the players did have 2 contracts, then Rangers knew it was against the rules. For the very reason why the rule was created in the first place - to ensure that clubs could not hide things like EBTs from the SFA.
Quite right, the original article is doubly damaging as both an example of their fiscal impropriety as well as their lack of sporting integrity. If Campbell Ogilvie is implicated, then the governance of the game in Scotland is demonstrably corrupt.
It is a bit, but I'm not sure how the club secretary wouldn't know a thing or two about the admin side of the club.
It is certainly the role of a Company Secretary. That is an inescapable fact. If he didn't know about it, he is negligent in his role and therefore not fit to have any position at the SFA. If he did know about it, he & Scottish football is corrupt. If that quote is correct, then Rangers players were paid via a third party which is, of course, against the rules. He, as Secretary must have known this. Then he is both negligent and corrupt. I shall qualify that by saying that the role of Secretary at Rangers may differ from anywhere else in the world.
Let's not forget Martin Bain also worked for the SFA, and he had an EBT. What are the chances that Ogilvie had an EBT as well as two contracts?
**** it. They're all at it, the bastards!!! I was reading Ally's whinge in the Sunday Mail today and just wondered if he was one of Minty's experimental double-contract players in the mid-90s. Given that he had been a good servant for the club and was coming to the end of his playing days and looking for long-term financial security, it might not be all that far fetched.
Why in the name of God, are people talking about Rangers cheating about EBT's, players with two contracts, surely everyone Celtic fans knows that for at least one hundred years Rangers have cheated by continuous influence with the key decision making people in Scottish Football. Surely no one thought that Rangers had their men on the boards for the good of football whether than the good of Rangers football club. So cosy and so sure that there would never be a problem encouraged David Murray to extend his cheating to EBTS. It appears Rangers knew no boundaries.
