Now I rate the guy, so if you were to hold onto him, that is going to be one hell of a contract he will be on. His agent will be able to use any interest to just bump his wages to silly money, I would be very surprised if the fat lad was willing to upset the rest of the squad to keep one player.
My supporting Newcastle has nothing to do with keegan. Technically I was born in south shields, making me a sand dancer. This debate will forever rear it's head. The fact I was born in south TYNEside says it all really. Banks of the Tyne, not the wear. I support Newcastle.
I wouldn't of said a 30 year old colo would of signed improved terms a few months back either and considering he was already on about 60k a week, it would seem the money is there to keep the right players.
I've never once claimed to be a Geordie. I support the team but where I was born gives me no affiliation with Sunderland in the slightest. Like I said, I'm a sandancer but you will find people who look at it differently. Newcastle and it's catchment area are what some people would consider Geordie. I'm not arsed. My mams side of the family are from north Tyneside and my dads south. There is a decent split of supporters on both sides of the divide from jarrow and shields.
Geordies are the ones from Newcastle proper! The ones who ended up inbred with the Jocks after Sunderland and the out lying areas kicked their arse are bastardised Geordies. The Sunderland lad's were asked if they wanted to have Newcastle, they said no **** that, give it to the Jocks they can handle the smell better.
No mate: that was when Sunderland sided with parliamentary rule and democracy which was set against total monarchial rule... Mind you: the way things are at the moment, who knows which would have been best in the long run...
