Suprised that you guys have not mentioned Spurs in some way to be involved in that scrap too. I'm a bit apprehensive about our next 4 league matches, Arsenal away, Man U home, then Everton and Chelsea away to round off march. Can we keep our form going, or will it go all 'Tottenham' on us? If we can get 4-6 points and maintain a 5+ point gap by the end of March, I'd then feel more confident of top 4. Arsenal.....A win this Sunday could revive a horrible season and help gain some confidance for the business end of the season. Chelsea....Tough one to call, they have all the elements there for a top 4 finish, but AVB according to most reports seems to be losing player confidance. Liverpool..Always had a soft spot for them, they're starting to play better 2nd half of the season when it generally counts. Newcastle...Been lurking with intent around the top 6 all season. Is the 5-0 against Spurs just a blip or will they fall away? Barring a meltdown, City and Man U should have the top 2 spots nailed on. 3rd and 4th may go to the last day of the season. Its gonna be an interesting run in.
What makes some of you think we will drop off? We have Cabaye and Tiote back and 2 powerful strikers up front for us. Not saying we will get 4th but you can't say we will falter when you and Chelsea look awful at present.
Realistically we are not battling Spurs for 4th. They are 10 points ahead of us and in far better form. I think its reasonable for the OP to assume that its between Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea. Why do you assume he is having a pop?
Come off it guys, they're TEN POINTS AHEAD OF US. If we say they're at risk of dropping out, then we must say the team ten points behind fourth is in with a chance. I doubt Everton and Norwich are gonna be there any time soon Sunderland however... Well, stranger things have happened...
Allright, well Chelsea got the result I expected them to by beating Bolton, Chelsea have been terrible, but they were due an eventual win. Newcastle looked to have been on their way to another good victory, but blew it by letting a 2 goal lead slip. We basically have to do our jobs tomorrow to push away from Newcastle and keep pace with Chelsea, hopefully we don't collapse and show some character and fight, as Wenger and the players have been calling for.
Too early to say that! We still have tough games against Liverpool Newcastle, City, and Chelsea, and still even have to play Stoke away. Plus with Arsenal you never know, we can go on a very good run and play amazing, and then just go on a relegation form blip like last month when we went 3 games in a row with a loss, and only won 1 game out 5, after a very good run from october-december.
Well well well, our emphatic victory over Spurs was something special wasn't it? Will this give us the key morale boost that we need to clinch 4th place? Also with Liverpool winning the carling cup, will this put them on some sort of run in the league? All i can see is next weeks game against Liverpool at Anfield will be very interesting indeed!
A great start to the weekend, we have beaten a top 4 rival in Liverpool, Chelsea have just lost, so we have a 3 point gap with them, and things can still get better for us Spurs drop points to Manu 2morow. Things can better for us next week too if we see off Newcastle, another top 4 rival, but let's just wait and see what happens by then. But our main rivals for top 4, Chelsea, are looking really really bad, they may even end up 6th or 7th on the form they are on at the moment, I see Liverpool as being a stronger side than Chelsea so don't see Chelsea even finishing above Liverpool.
Well ... seeing as you said please But was it really 'really, really unlikely' that we'd beat Liverpool ?
