Same old same old Ric no one likes to lose to Stoke then cries that we bullied them and the ref was on our payroll. We hear it everytime we win. Face up to it we never allowed you to play and beat you end of!
I expected a draw at best, Stoke are Stoke and you know what your going to get. Would I want to see ****e footy every week. No. But i'm not going to piss and moan about it. Much bigger fish to fry. We'll have a go at you next season Stoke. But the ref, Michael Oliver, we've had trouble with him in the past. Not surprised he was **** (Holt sending off at Reading last year, we must have embarressed him quite a bit)
Unfortunately that is a tag you'll struggle to shake off. Stoke are a big physical side and in some quarters there way of playing is considered to be bullying. The reliance on the long throw and the type of player Pulis brought in the first couple of seasons lumbered you with the hoofball merchant tag, however it has worked for four years in the Prem and has assured you of at least a fifth season. I don't particularly like Pulis but he's found a style that works for him and credit to the bloke he's adapted it over the last couple of years by adding players like Pennant, Walters and Crouch who aren't long ball merchants. Today we weren't good, partly our own fault for starting Howson over Fox when Howson has only played 90 minutes in a reserve game since November and partly due to you not allowing us to play. Some people will say the ref was on your payroll because you play football in the old fashioned way in that you still treat it as a sport that will inevitably have a bit of contact in it while a lot of today's players and managers are constantly calling for the ref to give more 'protection' to players, prime example today was Daniel Sturridge losing his rag because someone half tackled him. The ref being who he is and having his reputation was going to get stick from one set of fans regardless of the result and he hasn't helped himself by admitting he let the linesman over rule him for the throw in that lead to the goal. I myself would be pleased if we followed in Stoke's footsteps, if not style of football, and have said so a number of times this season. You've come up, stuck to your way of playing and gradually adapted the team to suit the Prem and its provided you with an FA Cup final, a run in Europe, at least an FA cup quarter final this season and some solid league positions. Hopefully three years down the line we can lay claim to a similar list of achievements.
Today there were a lot more long throws than normal, but only because you kept knocking the ball off the pitch and inviting us to do it. As usual none of them came to anything, but if you've got that weapon in your arsenal you're going to use it. I don't think we were any more physical than you today, and the worst challenges were from Norwich players. I was expecting us to struggle today and we did against resolute defending. But I was also expecting more 'football' from Norwich which didn't appear. You must have had an off-day as you were one of the worst teams we have played at home this season, which surprised me given your league position and performance against us earlier in the season, not to mention the way you played last week against Manure. Being a Stoke fan, I think it was the correct result, but we needed a large slice of luck from the inept ref to achieve it. Sometimes it happens like that and as it's happened in both fixtures between us this season, you must be feeling a bit aggrieved, and rightly so. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season and I'm sure we'll be playing each other again next year.
Norwich fans F F Sake I've just spent the last ten mins reading this thread.. ONLY one team was **** today and it wasn't Stoke. I was there unlike most on this thread.. HOW many bookings for Norwich. The WORST team to visit us by a mile. just want to say that Swansea fans last week told us. Norwich tried to kick us off the park this was after your'e recent meeting. Stoke can't play the football they play and not expect a reaction from opposition fans. We didn't play our "Football" today because we couldn't, you prevented that. Hats off to you for doing that.
SORRY to be so blunt but, you are an idiot end of.. Maybe it was a throw in the other way, I've not seen it since being at the game? BUT you didn't defend it and to slate our style? You are kidding no one. Ruddy time wasting all 2nd half? Holt climbing all over our two C/halfs who apart from one shot way off target had him in their pocket's all game. Take your'e blinker's off and give credit when and where it's due. I AGREE about the ref though. Two pen's maybe 3 IMO he was blind and HOLT is the biggest moaner I've seen this season. We have our style, Stoke have theirs. For whatever reason, we struggle against that particular way of playing. We've lost six and drawn one of the seven games we've played at the Brittania and since Pulis has been there we've played six, won one, drawn one and lost four. Hell, we've only managed two goals to their ten. I know you can use stats in any way you want and to show what you want, but this shows that we struggle against Stoke and the way they play their football. I know people don't like it, I certainly don't, but it's effective and against us its pretty much unbeatable.

Can you honestly, hand on heart, recall a day thats gone by when someone hasn't described the football that Stoke play as "****e" It's got you this far, but it will get you no further. It can get results, but it will never win you respect. It's fair enough using it to get promoted and get established in this league but to continue using it year on year. You have to question what is going on. Like I said, we have much bigger fish to fry.
